It is also an excellent way to become more comfortable with doing more complex freehand (which I hate doing). Even small touches of freehand, like your trim, can add so much to a miniature. This back of the cloak looks a bit more choppy that some of your others. The reason is your paint was too thcik so you were not able to transition the color changes more smoothly. On the plus, most of us start highlighting this way and improvements come very quickly, especially if you are painting as much as you seem to be.
