ladystorm
We got to talking and decided it would be rude to alienate the CAV following we worked so hard to cultivate the last two years, so there is something for everyone. Ravenwolf
It's been a long while since I've played CAV and I only have the original rulebook. Could you elaborate on the optional rules LDF and The Few, The Proud? Thanks, -Tony
Storminator
It's been a long while since I've played CAV and I only have the original rulebook. Could you elaborate on the optional rules LDF and The Few, The Proud? Thanks, -Tony LDF is Limited Defensive Fire, which doesn't apply to all models. Some weapons can't be used for Defensive Fire for the full 360 degrees. It'll be listed on the data card, right at the name of the weapons. Frex, the Mastodon has LDF F90, which means it can only use DF against fire from the front 90 degree arc. If you use CAV-RC, click the "Details" button at the weapons. If it doesn't say LDF on any of the weapon lines, you have 360 degree DF. The Few the Proud refers to crew upgrades. It limits the number and kind of experienced crew you can have. One Ace for every two Elites, one Elite for Every Two Veterans. So to have an Ace you need two Elites and four Veterans. There's no restrictions on pilots or WSOs, so you could have the Veterans and Elites be pilots and the Ace a WSO, or whatever. And again, bring all your models! Ravenwolf
Excellent. Thanks for the info. I'm glad they have instituted rules such as those especially the The Few, The Proud. I've seen where having many Aces in the right areas can be devastating. At least this requires you to buy up other crew in order to get your Elites and Aces. It serves to balance your sections out as well. Good stuff. -Tony
Chrome
It'll be listed on the data card, right at the name of the weapons. Correction, its listed on the Datacards in the JoRs. They won't be in Ravenwolf's original rulebook. Also on TFTP, there's no limit on the number of Veterans you can have.
Ravenwolf
I think LDF is listed on the CAVs in CAV-RC though. That is a great roster builder by the way. I've got my sections pretty much done for the tournament. Which brings me to a question: If we upgrade/change weapons on CAVs/Infantry do we have to modify the models accordingly for the tournament? -Tony

Just make sure the datacards are printed up right. Way too much trouble to hack on metal for a one day event. PS
