Hmmmm... very tough... no order...

This list excludes all the "local" cultural songs and artists so isn't really a list of my favorites i guess....

But these are the 5 songs I will immediately stop whatever I am doing and groove too...

Walk Like an Egyptian - Bangals

Time Stand Still - Rush

Wheels of Confusion/The Straightener - Black Sabbath

It's Not Unusual - Tom Jones

I Got the Feelin' - James Brown

And an honorable mention would have to go to....

Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon - Neil Diamond

Spoonfull - Willie Dixon

Breathless - The Coors

2112 - Rush

Hatework - Morbid Angel

Don't Believe the Hype - Public Enemy

My favourite songs aren't set in stone..but at this exact moment, they would be (in no particular order)

Save A Prayer, by Duran Duran - It's almost twenty years old now and not a bit dated. It was the fab-five from Birmingham's high water mark in my opinion.

Suvetar (Goddess of Spring), by Gjallarhorn - Chances are few if any of you have ever heard the song, or of the band..but if you get the chance to hear it, you'd find it very compelling.

Near Wild Heaven, by REM - How can you hear this song and NOT get happy?

White Flag, by Dido - It was the favourite song of a departed friend of mine, so it has special meaning to me, and I find it inspiring.

Wish You Were Here, by Pink Floyd - The ULTIMATE chillin' out song!

Well lets see. Its funny, because we were discussing this at work yesterday. I suppose my five fav's would be as follows:

Black Muddy River by The Greatful Dead

Crazy Train by Ozzy

Fade to Black by Metallica

Dont Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult

and last but not least More Human than Human by White Zombie.

Wow, that is a rather interesting list now that I look at it.

How is it that one of the youngest members on this board listens to the least contemporary music? Huh... *shrug*

Because you've been introduced to a mature wargaming environment that's above N*SYNC and Britney Spears.

What's wrong with N'Sync and Britney Spear?????

Now headologically speaking, the reason so many people hate Spear is because so many other people hate her too. Incidentally, the reason so many people like her (well they do! her bank account proves it) is because so many other people love her! (methink)

Ok, sorry for jacking the thread, more on subject... my fav. songs are those that are meaningful to me so here goes.

1. All-Stars - Smashmouth

2. Foolish Game - Jewel

3. Unchained Melody - Righteous Bros

4. If God Was One of Us - Joan Osborn

5. I'll Stand By you - Pretenders

PS: Yeah, I'm the kind who listen to S.A.D fm on my way to school...
