Company Champion Turis

Well, after finishing my Apothecary a week ago, I was incredibly happy with the result, and it really got me motivated to do some more painting... I was on a "painter's high", you could say. After priming him and awhole bunch of other figures, I finally set out to paint the Company Champion for my Command Squad.

This was my first time sculpting cloth, and it turned out 'ok' I guess.. abit too thick, imo. I am very happy with the pose though... especially the arm, holding the trident.

So, here he is... Company Champion Turis!

I really like the way he came out (although, again, the camera really brings out the flaws that can't normally be spotted by the eye.. sigh).

***PRE-EMPTIVE ANSWER***

Yes, he is loyalist. My army uses mixed armor.

Yes, he will get a chapter badge... eventually.

Yes, he is loyalist :P

Comments are welcome :)

Regards,

Nooo, not Ultramarines.

You wouldn't believe the number of people who say things such as:

"oh... more ultramarines... and traitor ultramarines too lolzloolz"

"ultramarines have gold trim now, you know.... and why do they have chaos stuffs?"

and so on... it is depressing sometimes.

On a serious note, I really do like it. I like GW experimenting with the new helmets, especially the new necron-esque chaplian helmet from the new box. Great job with this marine, I like the gem on his pack, his helmet, and trident the most.

Heh, looks great from here. Just a little tip which might cut down on the loyalist questions. Next time try fileing off the arrows and points from the shoulderpads and legs. Removeing them doesnt realy remove the old look to them, just gets rid of any suspicious markings. I've done that with a few marines of mine, particuarly my Death Company.
