If your in a serious crunch and don't mind a little work, go to a dollar srore and find the toll painting section, there you should be able to find some moss.

This is where the work comes in .... chop it down to scale (took me about 20 minutes by hand).

I would have used the food processor but I think my wife would have killed me :-)

It's not by far the best idea, but would be ok for game pieces. You'll still have to paint/drybrush to make it resemble real type grass .... Oh yeah, if you have an old brush, the bristles can be removed and used for longer grass (seen it in a post here somewhere), painted and looks real shape.

Hope this helps.

That's right folks, I said it, and I'm not apologizing. ::P:

GW grass is good, but I find it's a little shorter than the Woodland Scenics stuff (thus, harder to make stand up using my methods) and the screaming-eyeballs bright green annoys me. However, I do take it and mix it with WS Burnt Grass, Med. Green, and Dark Green static grasses, and that makes a *really* nice color mix. ::):

Also, it looks like Reaper will soon be offering static grass for sale as well--projections seem to indicate it'll be sometime this summer, though, so that may not be in time for you.

Personally, I hate the bright red static grass that is part of the GW mix.

Once the Reaper grass is out, I plan on making my own mixes - with no red.
