Frustrated Father
I ordered a few of them - can't wait to put a brush to one here in the future. Ordered the extra ones to hold over for contest prizes for the painting contests in the future. Fast turn around too - UPS says mine will be in tomorrow. Yay! Warlocke
People who managed to get multiple copies probably should keep it a secret, lest the angry demons who didn't even get one carry you away in the night. You'd think I'd get used to this sort of thing, but nope. Always disappointing.
Cade
It's fairly common for limited edition minis to be offered at conventions. I think it was very cool for Reaper to allow web sales of the mini during the convention weekend for people who couldn't make it to the convention. The mini is still limited edition and rare, so that convention goers did get something special, but the opportunity was offered to others, if only for a short while.. It's the best of both worlds. If they kept the mini in production and offered it to anyone, then it would be no different then giving convention attendees a random warlord mini, which really doesn't feel like getting a special gift for attending a convention. I think Reaper's scenario had the best of both worlds. I don't recall seeing Rackham offer their Paris Open mini online for those of us who couldn't afford to fly to France. Frustrated Father
Got mine in today - thanks Reaper for the MSP and Pro paint samples (they didn't have labels on them, is that normal?) as well as the new magazine. Were there LE Sophies for the other Reapercons (is this the second or third?) - if so, are there pictures anywhere?
ladystorm
(they didn't have labels on them, is that normal?) yes. most paint samples are the mistake paints. instead of tossing it, they give it away as samples. Were there LE Sophies for the other Reapercons (is this the second or third?) - if so, are there pictures anywhere? This was the Second Reaper Con, the first did have a LE Mini as well. In the Painted Showcase Gallery , two versions of the Reaper Con 04 LE mini are available for viewing.
Morgan Devalis
I like my Cowgirl Sophie better. Last years has a face that is too witchie-poo to belong to a cuie like Sophie.
Frustrated Father
Mistake paints .... how are they mistakes? Wrong tint or color? Anyhow, happy to have them. As for Reapercon Sophie '04 - like her!
eastman
Mistake paints .... how are they mistakes? Wrong tint or color? Anyhow, happy to have them. As for Reapercon Sophie '04 - like her! They check each batch of paints to match the color standards (packed bottles of each color for the Pro-paint and a smeared drop test to compare each batch of Master Series to a large bottle of the standard color). The acceptible color ranges are fairly small to make sure that a batch made now matches the paint made a year from now (or a year ago). If the color isn't right, they label it as a "Sample" and give it out with orders.
