lstormhammer
Egads! Well, it's dead, and you can now officially call your X-acto 'Sting'. I'm going to go away now. --LSH
Hexxenhammer
I don't really have anything to add other than that thing brings out all kinds of violent, primal emotions in me. OMFG is right. And Cade, about the centipedes, right on. My room was in the basement as a kid and I remember one time I was playing with my Legos when a GIANT centipede crawled right out of one of the blocks. What happened next it a blur of stomping and flying Legos, but at the end, the centipede was dead, curled up in a ball like they do. God, I've got the willys just thinking about it. Nanite
Those fangs gave me chills. Oh and for once I'm glad I don't live in Australia, those Funnel-Webs can bite through fingernails!
haldir
speakin of Austrailia, isn't like the top 10 deadly snakes in the world live there?? That is one nasty looking spider, glad you killed it, it may have wanted to travel & spawn as it went, ha ha Randy M
Java Fiend
A friend of mine has a son in the US Army who's stationed in Iraq, and he sent her some photos of a really big and nasty looking bug that he found in his tent. It was sort of a cross between a spider and a scorpion, and it was as big as your hand. He spent quite some time ranting about Evil Bugs. I thought it was a bit much for a bug, but I guess if you're writing home to Mom you can't very well rant about the really gruesome wartime stuff. Catman Jim
The other day, I was watching the Fear Factor TV show where they did a gross 'sushi-bar'. The one where they had someone eat a couple of big tarantula rolls. Anyway, after that, I was getting a snack & a glass of milk, then set it down to play Neverwinter Nights. After a couple hours, I remembered the snack & milk. After a drink, I noticed that it tasted odd. Looking closer, I saw a blob in the milk the size & color of a loogie. Sticking my finger in to see what it was, the greenish-white spider unfolded & crawled up my finger (it's body was about the size of my pinkie-nail). I did dump the milk, but let the critter go outside. I don't mind spiders, but it did gross me out to think how close I came to eating it. They are a type of wind-scorpian. We've got species of them here in the states too but they only get to be about an inch long.

Hehe... camel spiders - they have all sorts of myths attached to them (Like they scream and run 25mph) Fact is, they are big (5-6" legs) - weird looking - they do run (at a top speed of about 10mph). The really weird thing is that they will follow you around and will "chase" you so they can remain in your shadow. When they run, they also run with their front legs in the air. I'd probably use a grenade to dispach them ;)

Qwyksilver
Some bug that big, that chased me, would definitely make me freak out.
VelveteenRabbit
"Doesn't look real big..." Did you notice the FANGS pointed out in the picture??? Not the mandibles or whatever, but the long sharp pointy bits curved back under its body. That's plenty big. Good job! I'm a fan of killing all the spiders in the house also. My girlfriend is the put them outside type, which is odd since she's the one who gets huge nasty spider bites from our bed from time to time! Bleh.
