ixminis
Yup, I've come close to doing that several times... I developed a "twist the cap closed before shaking habit" that seemed to minimize the number of near-misses that I had... That and eye dropper bottles... much more difficult to spackle through a tiny nozzle... Rgds,
Vil-hatarn
I just tipped a bottle right over once, don't remember why...I was trying to do something, and suddenly, there was paint all over my desk!
Humansquish
I always check the lid before I start shaking. Just got to make it a habit. One time I was using two pair of pliers to open an enamel paint jar when the bottle exploded. It was red paint to it looked like I had murdered something in the kitchen. dargrin
I could be worse. Spill the entire contence of the paint pot into a junk draw.
prophet118
i spilled an entire GW pot of bad moon yellow on my kitchen floor... still finding some of that stuff around... it was the old twist tops, and i was painting out of the lid, i went to grab the pot to put the lid back on, and somehow managed to basically throw it off the table.. Been there, done that. Tricky part then is deciding what you have that will fit in that color. I remember I had about 20 figures with bronze basses at one point because of that! alchemist
A good habit I got into many years ago is that whenever I shake a pot of paint I always hold it such that the palm of my hand covers the lid. This is very good for preventing accidents with loose lids, and I highly recommend it.
Qwyksilver
I did that during a speed paint a couple weeks ago with metallic silver. Fortunately, I also shake bottles much like alchemist described. It only covered my hand and part of my wrist. Of course I started cracking jokes about being Qwyk Silverhand. I knew someone else at the table was going to, so I had to say it first. Qwyksilver
Well, it's a better name than Johnny Tremain. Sweet! Someone else read that book when they were in grade school! That was exactly my thought when I was cracking those jokes.

Dip in alcohol, brush off paint flecks. Of course, it could take the other paint off your walls as well.
