SFwriter
Okay, the only reason I'm posting this is because I went through a ton of web pages looking for the perfect way to take pictures of my miniatures. I don't want anyone else going through the same thing, so here's my story. Let me set the stage. I've got a 35mm Minolta QTSI with Auto Focus and Auto Exposure. Naturally, all the advice about f-stops and apeture settings didn't apply to me, so I really struggled with getting the light right. Do I use two lamps, one, fourteen, AAAAAHHHH! I couldn't figure it out. Until I found some great advice on CMON. (I hope this don't offend nobody, but here's the link) Photographing minis with just one lamp Now I use a full spectrum light (its actually a typical flourescent lamp with an Ott-lite bulb in it). Personally, I think its great to paint and take photos by, but thats just me. The other piece of help/advice I'd give is using a good photo editor. You can download a 30-day trial of Adobe Photoshop 7 if you don't already own it, off their site www.adobe.com. I hope all of this is helpful for those of you who were once as lost as I. Good Painting and happy photo taking!
ThePolo
Oh, durn! Thanks! I'm mostly happy with my lighting setup, but this guy's advice is too simple not to try out.
