Good pictures?

Okay, the only reason I'm posting this is because I went through a ton of web pages looking for the perfect way to take pictures of my miniatures.  I don't want anyone else going through the same thing, so here's my story.  Let me set the stage.

I've got a 35mm Minolta QTSI with Auto Focus and Auto Exposure.  Naturally, all the advice about f-stops and apeture settings didn't apply to me, so I really struggled with getting the light right.  Do I use two lamps, one, fourteen, AAAAAHHHH!  I couldn't figure it out.  Until I found some great advice on CMON.

(I hope this don't offend nobody, but here's the link)

Now I use a full spectrum light (its actually a typical flourescent lamp with an Ott-lite bulb in it).  Personally, I think its great to paint and take photos by, but thats just me.  The other piece of help/advice I'd give is using a good photo editor.  You can download a 30-day trial of Adobe Photoshop 7 if you don't already own it, off their site www.adobe.com.

I hope all of this is helpful for those of you who were once as lost as I.  Good Painting and happy photo taking!
