Is the "evil company" really so evil?

I would most certainly charge more for the stronger figures - regardless of profit thinking. That brings part of the "costs within the game" out into the "real world" and thus increases the feeling of realism.

In 40K I have heard complaints about a certain unit being too powerful. The player using them retorted by saying:

 

"They aren't too powerful. They cost $11 each!" ::o:

IIRC, the complaint I've seen/heard elsewhere is not so much that higher point cost figures are more expensive, it was that some figures are more powerful than their points cost would indicate because the price on the figure is set higher (so 2 figures with the same points cost in the army list could be radically different in power because one cost twice as much as the other).

 

That is what I've heard, don't know if it's true. Since the first rule of journalism is "never let the truth get in the way of a good story", that's my story and I'm sticking to it, but YMMV.
