Spartan6
no hot wings WHICH, BY THE WAY, I noticed nobody brought me. I spent months laying the seed sand planting hints. See if I give you any sneak peeks of any cool stuff now. Oh don't be a baby. I'll get you at the RAC.

Actually, Bryan, I brought a Hot Wing wrapper and put it on the table next to you on Saturday - figured it was kharmic to return tease for tease. Just as kharmic that all that planning to be mean didn't get noticed. Back on topic, what is the maximum occupancy for ReaperCon? And what, in people's opinion, would encourage more people to attend? A tray chock full of hotwings next to the hot-dogs? That'd be super sweet... Honestly, with as cool as the 1st year was, and the word of mouth that spread and made more folks attend this year (which was even better than the 1st, IMO) I think there'll be a steady build-up of attendance. There was even more cool stuff that went down this year (Warlord tourney, painting contest, the Asylum up, running, and awesome, the Dungeon Crawl and the auction ) that'll be a big draw again next year, plus all the other things that will most likely be out by next year (CAV 2, maybe the early stages of AICOM?) that'll pique curiosity. And the Reaperpeeps seem to always have some very cool suprises up their sleeves at all times. I myself can't wait to see what's in store next year. Kheprera
Which is why I started this thread in the first place. To give them ideas so we can boost attendance. I know ReaperCon is posted on the main website and the forums, but I noticed that most of the people who attended ReaperCon were from the forums. Maybe sending some flyers to the brick and mortar stores that carry Reaper products would also boost attendance. I know the big store here in town (Dragon's Lair) has a bulletin board where they post things, and they've got stores in Round Rock and San Antonio as well, and are going to open another in San Marcos IIRC. Since those cities are all within 300 miles of Reaper, I could see at least some people being interested in going and maybe we could even generate some of them into joining the Black Lightning team (I would if I had the time to devote to it). haldir
this year was my first ever gaming con of any type & I loved every minute of it, being around alot of people that shared the same likes as myself was great I don't want to feel like a machoist but I was really surprised on how many women were into painting & gaming & being on staff at Reaper, but then again most of my gaming groups is usually devoid of women (other then spouses or other relations) , but more power to gamers I say. I forgot about Jenova being from Seattle so I guess there was at least 3 of us representing the NW part, ha ha. Next year I want to get into the gamin parts of minis, gonna try & get something going around here, maybe enough people might think hey this is cool (& put down those Ugh! gee & Pokecrap cards & play a real game), maybe enough to make me consider BL status (but I don't think I could attract that much) As like Kel & Qwyk, I'm looking forward to next year as well. This time I'm bring more cash & I'll have things better organzied as well. Randy M
Qwyksilver
I am definitely packing lighter next year. I brought pretty much everything and anything I thought I might possibly want (just on the off chance I wanted/needed it). I didn't use a good 75% of it. I was spending too much time bouncing around chatting with folks and gaming. I managed to get out of the Con spending quite a bit less than I anticipated. Granted, I just dropped an order for the MSP #1-90, so that comes pretty close to making up the balance of my anticipated spending. I think I got lucky because the new Reven figures were not yet available, and I have more than enough of all the existing ones, although maybe some more Hunters now that I have realized their #MA 2 goodness. You can never have enough multiple attacking melee grunts to swarm those big guys.
Spartan6
The great Sparnak pulls out his Helmet of Seeing.... Ommmmmm...... ...the mists are parting... yes..it's getting clearer... .......I can see there being a CAV 2 Warmaster beta test.. Maybe an AICOM open beta game or two... Maybe a CAV2 tournament (hint, hint) to compliment the Warlord Tourney.. I'm predicting the CAV division of the painting contest will be pretty competitive..Might have to actually bust it up into unit and individual entries.... Some more entries in the diorama division.. More people of course.. ...Kelly and Rob are older and uglier... *shivers*.. Ahhh...Orchid Noir finally makes it.. .... oh how sad..Brian still has no wings.. things are clouding up... Wait..it's coming to me.. a big silver coffee urn flanked by creamer and sugar....and it's filled... with.. Dark Roast. Phew! that always takes a lot out of me! Plods down to the basement of Reapergard for a ShinerBock

I brought pretty much everything and anything I thought I might possibly want (just on the off chance I wanted/needed it). I didn't use a good 75% of it. I was spending too much time bouncing around chatting with folks and gaming. You and me, both. With our brand spanking new Reaper Miniature Carrying Case, I won't have my Toolchest of Miniature Doom to tote around. Also, I'm going to divide my basing material into smaller jars and just take a few, although I will still bring lots of Dullcoat with me. Seems that was the most popular item I had. That and ZapaGap and superglue debonder. We ran out of debonder. I'm also going to prep some minis so maybe I can get Jester to finally show me the airbrush in action (and get some primed as well). No more cigs, though. I had quit cold turkey as soon as I found out I was pregnant and wasn't mentally or physically prepared for quitting, but after that weekend, I'm good to go. I'll get more painting time in this way. I'm also using smaller boxes instead of the tacklebox, although I really did enjoy having everything I needed right there. I plan on taking up much less space (much to everyone's enjoyment, I'm sure). I wonder if we could have one small table, at least, dedicated to prepping minis where we can file, glue, greenstuff, drill, pin, cut, and Dremel without fear of getting minidust in our paints and on our brushes. The warehouse, maybe near the Paint and Take table, would probably work best for that.

Spike
I am looking forward to the next CW to see an article about the Con. Last year's writeup, lovely though it was, was a bit short. Then there's the matter of ShinerCon, for which I am sorry for falling down on the job as staff-photographer. Next year I promise LOADS of lovely blackmail-worthy print-and-frame-worthy photos. I'm sure the Georgia-caravan will include even more folk next year. It's fun to actually have a proper rolling posse! (and that means you're coming next year too, Oberon..with your all-demon army list.)
Spartan6
I'm sorry Spike. The Executive Council of Grand Poobahs for ShinerCon 2006 met in a secret closed-door session and passed a resolution to ban any and all types of optical recording devices. Repeat after me... "What happens in Texas, stays in Texas... "
