vejlin
I finally got some painting done, this is my first mini in a while so be gentle. I was inspired to paint the mini when I saw how nicely Jubilee had painted the same sculpt a little over a week ago: It took me about 5 hours to paint this mini.

Moderator Froggy the Great Posted June 8, 2005 Moderator Share Posted June 8, 2005 Which mini is this? I don't recognise it.
vejlin
It's a GW Celestial Wizard. Got him in a box with 7 other mages (Chaos, Dark Elf, Bright, Jade, Amber, Gold and Light) all plastic.

Is that one of the old "Starter" boxes GW sold a few years back? I've been trying to locate some of those box sets. Nice paint job, too. Very clean. Pic is a little dark, though. vejlin
I'll post a pic of the box, they have them all over the place here in Denmark. Here they're 80 crowns I think (1 US dollar = 6 crowns).
Jubilee
The boxes are called "toy boxes" and you usually have to special order them. They used to cost about 8 dollars but with the last price hike they went up to 15. they have the adventurers, wizards, elves, minotaurs, critters (rats, bats, & some beast). I haven't checked in over a year, so I have no idea if it's gone up again. I only got the wizard box because it had a cool female wizard in it that I've never painted anyway. Go fig. :P To Vejlin: He looks really nice! I'm flattered that I inspired someone to paint it. I like your color choices better than mine. ;) The skullcap looks better not metallic - what was I thinking?!

Hexxenhammer
That mini also stars in the irregular webcomic as Kyrus the fire wizard.
deep_sashelas
Nice. Clean, and I especially like the blue robes.
ecs05norway
That does sound like an interesting set, does anyone know where it could be found in the USA? And are any of the characters included female?
vejlin
I'll post a pic of the box tomorrow when my camera's battery is recharged. Yes the Dark Elf character is a female Sorceress.

Jubilee
Well, I know that last year I could order the toy boxes from GW through my FLGS. I haven't checked recently, though. /ali Here is a picture of the box with the wizards (back and front):
