Digital [email protected]
And now that I'm home and looking at this on my CRT monitor (instead of a flat panel LCD monitor) the effect is much clearer. This is why I stopped looking, well commenting, at miniatures from work, I could not believe how different they looked than they did at home. As always your flesh is smooth and seductive, very nice. Not only is the execution of painting very good, but the mood you created through your choice of colors and details complete the miniature. What I mean with the simple white cloth and the eye shadow etc, I can picture and assume some things about her home land and culture. Very nice work. ixminis
This is why I stopped looking, well commenting, at miniatures from work, I could not believe how different they looked than they did at home. Good point. I usually remember that there's a difference, but I don't know that I always talk about the potential differences when leaving comments. For example (when I post), I had painted one mini intentionally not-to-white on the highlights. A few folks said it needed more highlights. I chalked it up as the picture(s) fault, but considered talking motivation the next time I posted something... At the same time, when commenting on someone else's mini, I find that I frequently *give the benefit of the doubt* when I can't tell if it's the piccie or the painting... but usually the more brush strokes, the rougher the blending, the few clean lines, then I start asking about technique issues.... I think that's why my comments tend to seem mild until asked for pickiness... because photos are so... finicky... Eh, I love the piccie of the mini, and I've finally gotten the opportunity to see Jenova's stuff in person, so I *know* if she says (It looks like *this* in real life*) it does... P.S. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm picking on you Digital [email protected], I'm just rambling...

Digital [email protected]
P.S. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm picking on you Digital [email protected], I'm just rambling... Nope, doesn't bother me. I know I had certain opinions of pieces when looking at them at work and then when I saw them at home on a quality monitor, the miniature looked significantly different. You are correct, blending and the like can still be seen, but color differences can be astounding.
