Arvok
I don't know if this rates its own topic but there are a couple paints I would like to see: How about a mother of pearl paint? You know, one that's basically white but when the light catches it just right you can see some or all the colors of the rainbow. Also, a matte paint-on finish. Enchantra
Well those are nice ideas. For a matte paint on finish there is Testor's brush on Dullcote. Another choice those not quite as good as Dullcote is Delta Ceramcoat's Indoor/outdoor matte varnish, which you will need to thin a bit with water. As for the mother of pearl finish, I have yet to see any paint company make this kind of thing. The closest you will get is using pearlescent medium that you can find at any craft store. ecs05norway
Reaper Pro Paint's Pearl White is sort of like this, although there isn't a lot of iridescence. I use it as a glaze over colors for some neat effects, though.
Kheprera
The Master Series will have a brush-on sealer as well as a brush on primer and a pearl white. Anne will have more information forthcoming on Monday, I'm sure.
Hells_Clown
One of the cheapie brands (Apple or the like) makes a MoP that looks good. Check Michael's or Wally World.
Reaper User Vaitalla Posted June 21, 2005 Reaper User Share Posted June 21, 2005 We will be putting out brush-on primer for MSP's; white is already on the schedule, and I would like to see a black as well in the following 108 colors. Mother-of-pearl paint would be impossible for us to do, if I read you right and you're talking about a paint with rainbow irridescence; the non-toxic flake substances we use do not have that color available, and doing a mix of different colored flakes just ends up looking like greyed slush, not rainbow. ;) I had heard that true rainbow irridescence powder is way too expensive to use in bulk paints unless your other costs are so low as to be inconsequential, and MSP is definately not a low-cost paint! :P So I'm sorry, but that is one thing you won't be seeing (probably the only thing!!). --Anne
Zinzig
Check out Delta Creamcoat pearlized series...not perfect, but might be close to what you are looking for. I've used this on fairy wings to to get that irridescent sheen.
