The last time I posted this figure, I didn't have anything on the base.. and boy did I get rubbed about it (thanks for the rub... it alwasy pushes me to do better). So, here are my elven fighters with their new bases. I scupted the stones using green stuff and put the grass/weeds on as per someone's advice (thanks Humansquish).

I did the fella in the same colors to see if I could do it again. What do you think?

Very nice!!! Hey I have a dumb question...How long did it take you to paint those figs??? I was just wondering as it takes me about 2 hrs per elf which is aggravating as it only takes me an hour and a half or so per orc and they are way bigger.....Any way very nice work I like the alternate scheme very much!!! ::D:

Nice bases, but I must also say that I'm digging your color choices for these guys. Definitely not the clichéd green and brown that you see on alot of elves (including my own, sadly enough).

Ugluk: Two hours per elf? You must be flying! It would probably take me at least 5 hours per figure to have something that I'd feel comfortable with showing to someone else. :-p

I guess I'm too much of a gamer cause I try and do a reasonably fast paint job so I can get a fully painted army on the tabletop asap. That is why I have adopted a dip technique. I dip the mini then go back and touchup, highlight etc. I mean I want a good looking figure, but I think an entire army painted to a reasonale standard is better than an army consisting of 3-4 awesomely painted minis and the rest bare metal. But these elves look very good. I have yet to try the NMM and since speed is a high priority I don't know if I will as it looks very time consuming. ::(:

I think each one took me about 6 or 7 hours per figure... and the bases were about 30 min each (not including dry time for greestuff... which is so much fun to use.... I LOVED IT!)

I have been spending about 5 to 10 hours per figure, working on shading and such. I am a gamer, who doesn't game enough to warrent building armys any more (plus I have a goblin army of about 30, skeletons around 40, and a proud kobold army of 28... those little guy rock).
