fet
This guy was, except for the cloak, an absolute joy to paint. The problem with the robe is that there was a big mould line running straight into the big fold on the rear, which was an absolute to get rid of. Oh well, the rest of him came out rather nicely, I think. The pics sort of ruin the metallics a bit, which are much nicer in person, I really must arrange a proper photography set up. The shield was in experiment in faded red, whereby I simply painted as I would any red normally, and then applied a good few white glazes. These built up to make the colour nicely dusty (without a dusty texture, thankfully). I also just noticed that the base edge has rubbed off in spots. Bugger. ugluk69
Nice....I especially like the way the sword turned out with just a hint of rust. The only thing I would have done differently would be to dry brush some kind of dirt/mud brown along the bottom of his robe, but then again I'm a dirty boy... Overall good job!! deep_sashelas
Hey, show us the face! I see two heads I'd like to get a more frontal look at. Nice work overall. Comments: I'd add a touch more highlight to the brown glove and straps perhaps. I'm curious what you used for the leafy things on the base. Those are nice touches, though a slightly different color might differentiate them from the green rags the skellie is wearing. You know what I really like about this mini. The bone shading. Not sure if it's the photo, but the greenish cast reminds me of rotting mould. It's also a good reminder there's more than one way to paint skeletons without resorting to GW's 'standard' dark brown dips/washes. Good work! LordColdsteal
I have always loved that figure... and you have done a great job on it. I really like the armor.. looks beat up big time... nice job. I'm with deepsashelsa, I'd like to see the face. Nice bone work too. My suggestions would be to paint the rim of the base with a walnut (very dark brown) or black.. that seems to bring more out of the figure IMO.
