LordColdsteal
Howdy all, Just finished a few more figs, and my webmistress is putting them up for me. This is the first larger scale fig I've done since moving away from dry brushing. He was a challenge due to his size (gonna do a dragon soon... shudder), but I think he came out... hmmm... can you say a demon is nice ? What do you think? Ivarr
Very nice. I really like the color choices...although for some reason my eyes were first drawn to the orange feet. Your shading is excellent.
ReaperShaun
Baboon Face looks great.
Niloc
Wow LordColdsteal, well painted :-) Thanks for sharing.
Jubilee
That is one of the creepiest minis, but you've done a really good job. The faces look very much like actual baboons (if you ignore that there are two of them on the same body and that it has chicken feet and tentacles...haha..). I like the purple on the tentacles alot. /ali
ugluk69
Again you show that you are an artist......very nice and I agree creeepy, but in a good way!!!
deep_sashelas
Beautiful. Like how you take advantage of the baboon coloration to draw attention to the face, as the rest of the model is quite busy with varied colors also. I love the 'realism' factor with subtle but effective highlights, the fur, the tentacles are great. Only thing that bothers me slightly is that the orange feet blend a little well into the brown of the base. Everything else looks great to me. Nikmal
WOW... THIS looks like the Demi-Gorgon from D&D fame of old!! What mini is this I really would like to purchase this and paint it up for my home game.. specifically for a game out of dungeon magazine recently with a picture of the demigorgon on the cover.. that would be perfect for tis mini!! Great job and good inspiration too!!! Keep it up!!
Vikinglodge
Well maybe he is a nice Daemon and whants to sit down and have tea with you and discuss the finer points of Gardening. He looks great by the way superb stuff.
Darkstar
WOW... THIS looks like the Demi-Gorgon from D&D fame of old!! I second that. Always a treat to see a not so well known and infrequently painted mini painted up in a good style. Great job, a proper base would help him out, and his paint job warrants like a 40mm or so, just to frame him better.
LordColdsteal
Well, I can take a hint (LOL)... I'm going to do a new base for him. I'm thinking a larger base with lots of blasted rocks... very desolate (kinda like West Texas). Any suggestions?
Darkstar
Since he is already on his precast base, I'd recommend a large Warmachine base. The round kind with the indention. That way you can just place him in the indention, with maybe a little trimming depending if he fits or not, and putty around the gaps with a quick setting putty. Then just flock the putty when it's cured and paint to match the base he's on now. Of course, add some rocks, corkbits and the everpresent skull or what not and you should be g2g in a few minutes time. I usually use whatever base the mini came packaged with to base a fig, but if I don't, I always grab for the handy Warmachine bases with the indention, real time saver. Reaper Warlord minis are shipping with an indented base now I've noticed, really, really like that, gives alot to the look of the mini to appear as if it's sunken into it's base a bit. Hendercrazy
A blackened/charred sulfur-esque base might be fitting for this beast... especially against the nice color choices you've made. :) Great painting style you have.
Frustrated Father
Absolutely fantastic bit of work there - love the color choices on this one and I'm damn tempted to pick up this miniature now due to your paint job of it. Well done!
