I've had this guy painted for a while, but I figure I'll post him anyways. I need to go back and line his eyes, but other than that I am quite happy with how he came out (all except for the top of his staff....it just doesn't work for me, dunno why though).

In any case, comments are appreciated, as always ^_^

Great freehand on the cape Warden54. I don't know ... I think the only two things could be, a rocky/snowy base and for the top of the staff, maybe a blue or green (gem work) to seperate it totally from the mini.

Just my 2 cents :-)

Nice work, thanks for sharing.

OK.... I love the free hand.. that is such a great design... your curves are done so well. The fire on the sleaves looks good to, but needs to be brought up just a bit with highlights. The little dragon and his face are just perfect... smiles all over.

The base... OK... we have got to work on your bases... with all the grief I've taken over mine.. now it's your turn ( :poke: ).

Great job... thanks for posting.

I love this wizard. =) I have loved him ever since you painted him. I love your beautiful choice of colors, they just seem to go together so well! As for the cape, I have to agree with everyone else... very impressive free hand. I know I couldn't do it. I love the flame detail on the sleeves and the bottom of his robes, subtle... but soooooooo neat if you notice it. =) You can do whatever you want for a base, but I think the mini by itself is impressive.

I really like the color choice. Red and orange would never have occured to me as a good combination, but it really stands out here, lots of pop.

You could try to darkline the eyes, but please be careful! We wouldn't want a raccoony wizard. I don't think that you necessarily need to line him.

If there is one suggestion to make (ok, besides the base, so it's two :poke: ), you might like to highlight the familiar a little more, so that it stands out of the shadows a little more.

'Course the cloak is great, much better than I am comfortable doing :)

This looks really good! I agree with some of the things other people have said--you probably want to highlight the dragon a bit more, and the orb on his staff would look better in a blue or green. I love this fig--he's on my "To Buy" list. ^_^
