Lars Porsenna
Speaking of which, the first day I was in college, 3 freshmen were kicked off campus (they were there less than a day) when the case of beer they were trying to pull through their window, using a piece of rope, banged on the window of the RA below them... Damon, ahh the memories...
Spartan6
LOL...all the Freshman would be lining up outside his door. Dude...can you like...buy us beer? I meant my classroom. I'm living at home. I did get an invitation in the mail to pledge a Frat though. It was tempting but "Delta House" is my fraternity now and always.
Chrome
I had a buddy that pledged after doing a stint in the army. One of the things he had to do during pledge week was compete against an upperclassman in a drinking contest. Having just spent the previous 2 years in Germany, he put the guy under the table. VelveteenRabbit
Sadly, I work for Roto-Rooter... I've never been able to stay at a job for more than two years (except UPS when I was younger, quit that when I moved out of state...) which is good because my two years at Roto-Rooter are up and it's time to start looking for something new! Ideally I'm going to do something that makes enough money that I can start an actual business of my own. Dream job is definitely gaming related. Either running a game shop or working on making games themselves. Both have merit. In the first you're constantly talking with people about gaming and actually doing it! People who go into a game store are looking to have fun, that has a wonderful energy all its own... On the other hand, making games means you get to create something that everyone can enjoy. With 24 years of game experience I do pretty well with that and really get a lot out of knowing that people are enjoying my creations. Life's too short for the opportunitys we are all presented... Orsino
I do second-level support for an ISP, serving mainly business customers around the world. I work tickets and take phone calls, trying to fix the Internet when it breaks. I don't know what a dream job would consist of, but I may be in it. By and large, I love what I do. I get a big charge out of turning frowns upside down, and have the satisfaction of knowing that I'm the best when it comes to certain sorts of problems. I work with great people, and generally have a blast. It beats the heck of teaching high school, which I did back in the eighties, and even beats the Army (though is less hilarious). mooseyjoe
I am a High School student who takes a lot of art classes. I think I would rather be teaching the art classes, or doing what I'm doing right now. Right now I still have a month left of free time so I'm not doing ANYTHING AHHH the joys of youth you have to admit the blues smiley just looks cool
Bodhi
I'm not quite finished with my education as a highschool teacher in history and comparative religion. I've "cheated" though and have allready had some working experience with it. Right now I'm also a "stay at home dad". Youngest kid is a year and the others are nine and five respectively. My dream "job" all since I was a child has allways been to lack all bodily needs and consist of pure spirit devoted to unrestrained intellectual endeavors. Failing that teacher comes pretty close Since I've allways tried to make do with as few needs as possible the low wages and hard work input required suits me fine. My wife is the real incomebringer though (and will be even if I get a topjob as a teacher). As a moviedirector the pay she gets for making just a one hour guest lecture in a school would equal the amount of money I'd get for a week of hard work. ixminis
Right now I still have a month left of free time so I'm not doing ANYTHING AHHH the joys of youth heh, remember that using your free-time to prepare for something does one of several things: Prepares you for the future & makes you *that* much better at it or it just takes up your free-time that much earlier heh. Mourningcloud
At the moment, I do absolutely nothing, since my last day of work at the crap job I had was last week. Don't know exactly what I'll be doing after that. I WILL be starting to get going on my acting career. I won't make much at first, and most likely will never be famous, but I'll love it. your kidding, right? cause if not let me know. I live in Southern California, and if its acting you want, its here you want to BE. (Well okay, or New York. But who wants to go to New York?) SaintRigger
I'm an IT jerky. My proper title is "Academic Services Instructional Support Specialist" - which I think should be shortened to the acronym for "Academic Support Specialist" - but they won't let me put that on my cards. :) Anyways - I work at a College and in a nutshell I build computer labs each semester, pulling out the old equipment, setting up the new stuff and then creating the software image for the new labs. I have to play with new deployment technologies (Ghost and now apple's ASR multicast) as well as various software packages. Since I'm the only one with unix experience, I've been made "The Mac Guy" as well - so I have 200 macs that I support and integrate into an active directory environment. All said and done, there are 3 of us that support some 2000 machines. :) It's hectic, but fun. If I could be doing *anything*, I'd like to have a job where I sit around and look at miniatures all day - and possibly paint them. :) I'd also like a job where I can sit on a rollercoaster all day. If I can't do either of these, then I'm really happy where I am at :) I also get my permenant appointment (Staff equivilant of tenure) - which means "Pants become optional" at work ;) Hehe - the gub'mint also pays for my tuition so I am slowly working towards my Masters in Library Information Science at the University of Buffalo's school of Informatics. After that who knows - I toyed with the idea of a doctorate in literature, specifically modernist poetics - but informatics is pretty sweet as well. :) Besides, it's a long ways off :)

bleujenna
I work as an senior artist for the largest toy company in the US. I love my job. I mostly work on interactive software for kids. I get to do lots of interesting things and I'm involved heavily in content and creative development. I have the pleasure of collaborating with national educators and think tanks- we just finished a project with the MIT media lab and had a blurb in TIME magazine. It's been a wild, crazy, fun ride, and there's nothing like a little kid playing with something you developed and saying "I love it!". My other jobs include painting minis (and I get to meet people like MinipainterUS, Elouchard, Ladystorm, Vaitalla, Frosh and Kellyn, Enchantra and DragonSnack) and teaching American Tribal Style Bellydance (more loves of mine). I just wish I had more time! I'm very lucky to get paid to do things that I'd want to be doing anyway. Oh, and my biggest bestest job is being SaintRigger's girl.. ~jenna
