Deus_Omega
Ok, so after fiddling with the camera for ages, I think I've got it figured out. I painted this mini a little over a year ago, but I thought he deserved a second chance at having a decent pic. What do you guys think? *problem areas: The holy symbol and the seal on his left shoulder... i know they look like crap ;)*
Darkstar
The pic is really clear and shows off the mini well. Maybe a bit more lighting would help though? Can't go wrong with more light! I'm not sure I remember this from a year ago, in fact I don't, or I would remember it. But let's see...yeah, good mini all in all, the parts you mentioned are needing some work, but you know this. The face is good, the metallics are done really well and the color scheme is fitting. What gets me though is the long seal running down his right hand side, looks like a strip of green stuff before it's been mixed? I see like a yellow stripe or something behind the blue seal itself, not sure what's going on there, it's kinda hard to see.
Deus_Omega
The yellow is supposed to be the suggestion of yellow piping on the side of the sash and back of the ?tabard?... Here's a better pic of it.
Niloc
Cool .... I like the undead hunters. Neat mini. Very metallic :-) Thanks for sharing.
smokingwreckage
If I may say: I like the metallics and I really like the leather, but I'm most impressed with how the face is distinguished from the armour with judicious shading and highlights. LordColdsteal
I really like the armor and the blue tabard in the back... and the yellow piping is an excellent addition... very cool! Excellent job. I wasn't too sure about the heads, but after a second look... they are nicely done. I feel the weak point (IMO) is the sword. The silver just doesn't look right too me. Good job all around. Deus_Omega
Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. @coldsteal: Yeah, the sword came out sorta wonky... I'm not so thoroughly impressed by the Pro-Paints Truesilver.
GeekGirl
Great job with the metallics! I really like this fig.
ugluk69
I have to say I have looked at your paint job several times, and the more I look at it the more I like it. I don't think the sword is terrible and its not much of an issue cause that is not the focus of this mini. My eyes are drawn to his face and you did a great job on it. I wil have to give this mini two talons up....Good job!
Deus_Omega
I have to say I have looked at your paint job several times, and the more I look at it the more I like it. *snip* LOL... That's honestly my goal... Alot of people tell me I need to highlight more or shade more, but I prefer a more subtle painting style, one that grows on people. IMO it's a little more realistic than the uber contrasting "'eavy metal" or Rackham styles, though YMMV.
ugluk69
I'm with you Deus!!! Of course speed is one of my considerations as well!!
Deus_Omega
Heh, for me, speed painting is getting it done in under 5 hours... accumulated over the course of a month ;).
