Spartan6
I like the idea of Malvie's trying to CoD having to be in base to base contact with the targetted model.
Crazy8
I think base to base is a little to close... I like 12". Allows you to CoD without haveing to be blatant about it. If your opponent sees you run up towards a damaged unit odds are he's going to unload on that model to keep the CoD from happening. 12" gives you the ability to CoD while still allowing for some tactical maneuvering. Spartan6
I'll compromise and say I could live with 6". I just can't see professional soldiers like we have in CAV turning on their own soldiers like with CoD. I think with a succesful CoD you should remove the model and gain like a 10% bonus to victory points for it or something like that. I see it as a sort of surrender that includes the "propaganda" value of a captured soldier appearing on the vid later saying he's a war criminal and never should have shot at the benevolent followers of Khardullis, yada, yada, yada... Crazy8
It's all about compromise... I do agree with the not having your units turn on their own soldiers. A bonus point system seems like a fair way of going about things.
Sergeant_Crunch
If we're going for "sense of impending doom" how about using the short range or point blank range already existing in the rules, not sure which would be better. You'd have to calculate which one you're in anyway if you're that close and declaring an attack or CoD. Definitely agree with DAs only though for CoD, but allowing for the wording to be "last attack" rather than "last damage track."
Spartan6
Point blank makes perfect sense to me.
