spiritual_exorcist
The Attacker adjustment (pg. 61) states that Cavalry models that make such an adjustment cause Enemy models to be moved out of the way. Are there any guidelines as to how this should be done (clearly it makes sense that a large Cavalry model could push models around). What happens in the event that such an adjustment forces defenders into base-to-base with other attacks. Should the attacker gain bonuses for support in such instances where it forces the defender into such contact? Is it allowed to force defenders into such a circumstance? spiritual_exorcist
Thanks, thought it might be worth discussing with all the Cavalry units starting to come into the game (it certainly wasn't an issue until very recently).
dewen
While we are discussing cavalry, what is the idea or thought behind Cavarly units counting as 2 in models in a troop? Is it simply to limit their numbers on the battlefield?
efkelley
There's a difference between Cavalry and Mounted. Cavalry are trained and equipped to go against archers. Mounted models have the benefits of riding an animal and fighting against people on foot. Most Cavalry units have Mounted, but some will not. In fact, some Cavalry units aren't even mounted. The 2 model adjustment is both to reduce the amount of cavalry on the table and gives a few points back on each Cavalry model.
spiritual_exorcist
Still, all mounted models that appear as grunts.adepts thusfar have been given the 'cavalry' ability. The only ones without it are the mounted Solos (Vandrian and Onyx Chevelier). My guess would be to limit the size of their units, even the Goblin Beastriders have this ability don't they (although they may get mob as well so that might make for hefty units after the release of the faction book; who knows). perhaps you are privy to more info than me, but I have yet to see a non-mounted Cavalry unit.
