Warden54
Gotta go with Digital M on this one, skeletons should have more of a gritty look to them, and drybrushing is the way to go.
Jhulae
They both look good, but to highilght the differences between them, I think they should be photographed side by side, not front/back, because detail is lost on the 'back' figure in both photos. I like how they look though. :)

Mojoman
Can I just say I love the swords... especially on the 2-handed skellie. very nice metallic look! Almost looks alive with light reflecting! Mojo
Naterstein
I kinda like the drybrushed one, since it looks more like old bone. The blended one looks nice, but like Digital said, he looks polished. Of course the necromancer could be really anal about how his army looks... hehe. ixminis
Because Jhulae asked, I'm attaching a piccie of them side by side... I've already repainted his unit symbol First a piccie of the skelly's side by side:
ixminis
Now a picture of what the unit symbol is *supposed* to look like:
ixminis
All in all I'm enjoying this thread... I never expected so much input on skellies & I'm glad everyone's posting about 'em. I see what everyone's saying about the drybrushed bones: They look like bones from an area with water in the atmosphere... while the smooth ones are probably from a very arid place with alot of sun-bleaching.... Food for thought!!! Thanks!

Sergeant_Crunch
Nobody shoot me, but I like the DB'd one. The blended one just looks too.....clean, for lack of a better term.
smokingwreckage
Actually, polished bones are fresh or polished and in warmer tones, while rougher and very white with a touch of grey bones are older. Looking at bones of animals it seems to me drybrushing better reflects their texture. Also I imagine you'd get colour variance from the soil they were on/in. I'd do black with white for Necro but white with flesh wash for Nefsokar.

Mengu
I think you'll be happier spending less time on them, and more time on painting leaders, elites, and solos. So, go with the faster way. They're only skellies. Time is your most precious commodity, spend it on what you enjoy most.
