Well I am an orc...primarily........but some of the guys here don't like fighting my Reven all the time so I use my Crusaders. I am starting to get the hang of this army and can win with them.

One of my observations is that the angel is somewhat fragile, especially when one considers his price tag pointswise. The first time I used him he went out and knocked down 3 mummies (awakened) only to be immeadiately surrounded and killed ,kicking and screaming, by the warriors of Sokar. Being Reven and having tough on all my troops had spoiled me, but now I play more cautiously with the Angel and non tough grunts. I feel like the angel is a great reserve piece that you hold until you see a weakness in the enemy's formation and then the excellant move on the angel can get it into combat exploiting said weakness. Just do not send it into combat unsupported. Until then the angel can be a combat medic healing and blessing the troops.

Just some thoughts I had about my #2 army!!! ::):

I agree with the standard and would add a musican to a "must have" list. I have been using my Sir Malcolm mini (my favorite Crusader mini...I just love his bald head.....but not in a gay way..... so Kelcore you are safe) as Sir Broderick and the Broderick fig as a Templar Knight musician since he has that trumpet on his back. Having battle nuns move 7 is just saweet!!! :poke:

Ugluk, sorry to burst your bubble, but Musician (and Standard) can only be on Soldier type models - Grunt or Adept. You'll need to find another model for your musician, although Broderick would be pretty cool since he already has a trumpet.

He has turned Sir Brodereck into a grunt so it seems perfectly legal to me. It is just not good for tourney when proxys are not allowed.

Ahhhhh. I thought you were slapping the 15 points on Broderick and still usnig him as the leader. My bad. Of course, if I read the 2nd half of that sentence more clearly, I would have seen "Templar Knight"

That's what happens when you respond to stuff before your morning coffee has finished brewing.

And Ivy Crown Archers are not wimps either. One actually showed Ymrilix Mercy at Gen Con when the BL guys (and friends) got together for that 5000 vs 5000 dance.

What they lack in accuracy (low RAV) they make up for in volume (Marksmen)

A well placed Bless is a good way to boost that RAV and keep your volume.

And all I can say is DAMN. Your new Capt - Brannor the Lightbringer - is one nice model. Looks and card. I saw him at the store, and just checked out his data card. Nice feller that. Not terribly expensive either.

Since I've joined Black Lightning, I will eventually be ALL of the guys. ::D:

Reven will still be my primary army though. My goblins won't be green. I'm going to be going for the old classic AD&D red-orange-yellow skinned golbins for my boys. Gives me a chance to stretch my color muscles and do something other than green over and over.

I already have a bunch of the Crusader leaders and Elites. I just need grunts to flesh them out. Actually I can say that for a lot of the armies.
