Looking for a group Dallas, TX area

Hey, I know there are several of us in the DFW area. Specifically, the East side of Dallas.

Garland, Mesquite, Rockwall and such.

I'm looking to meet and play with several of you. One on one or a bunch at once.

I know Reaper doesn't mind us playing at the Asylum(heck I like it because of the tables and pre-painted figs), but I was looking to find a bunch of players that didn't have to drive quite as far and play at least twice a month if possible.

Sound off if this is something you might be interested in. We can work out the specifics as we get players.

Here's my info:

Bobby Jennings

Mesquite, TX

Dwarves, and Necropolis(not my army but I have to learn to play them).

PM me or post here is you're interested or want more info on me.

Thanks,

Jhilahd

PS

Yes Pat, feel free to post here too!

I usually join MadPat and 1 or 2 other regulars at Gamewyze in Plano on the 1st Wednesday of each month for CAV or Warlord. He usually puts a message on the demo thing on the front page of the website as a reminder.

Not to speak for him, but Pat has expressed an interest in getting regular games going at a couple other places too. Hopefully he'll respond to this also.

Tabascojunkie,

I know. Pat's been trying to get the Comic Asylum interested. They carry the paints and a few mini's(from what I'm told) but no demo's. Yet.

I also heard you're in my neck of the woods. So we need to talk.

Gus, once your down, we'll have to get a game going.

I just cringe at the drive to Denton. Plus with the Fall soccer season starting, oy, its rough on a Soccer dad.

So... this is a good start. I'll make note of Gamewyse(up in Oklahoma, I mean Plano) and try to make the next one.

So where are you now?

So everyone knows... I'm in Mesquite, closer to Forney than actual downtown Mesquite. But still in Dallas County. So its 50 miles one way to the Asylum. Provided we don't have any construction detours, heh.

I'll be moving to Denton in just a few more months! I will be very much looking for regular gaming. I intend to be at the Asylum every weekend, but I will join any other regular games I can! ::D:

No way, way? Reeeaally? New job, or you get to choose where you live cause u rock? Coolio!!!

Sounds like we have at least 3 possibles so far. Maybe we could set up a time to all meet somewhere and BS for a first meeting, compare minis or something.

I'd vote for Comic Asylum since they have game tables. I know there's Lone Star Comics in Mesquite but they don't really have any tables and not much room in general.

And there's always regularly scheduled trips to the Asylum ::D: (easier with car-pooling)

I would definately be up for some games on this side of town (I also live in Mesquite - in creek crossing about a block from pirrung elementary to be exact) I used to make pretty frequent treks over to the asylum, but always wound up just sitting and painting rather than playing, and gas prices being what they are now I don't really have that luxury anymore.

I mostly have elves, but haven't really made any specific lists yet, I also have lots of bits and pieces from other armies as well, and my wife is working on a crusader force

only thing is I really haven't played much... at all really - played a demo at reapercon '04, played one quick "learn the rules" type game with my wife and that's it to date, but I have REALLY been wanting to actually get into it, so let me know if anything gets started =)

oh yeah my info:

Jonathan Barnes

Mesquite, TX

Elves mostly, but I have to say I really like almost every faction - and have a few favorite models from each =P

my wife might be willing to join in

Erika Barnes

Crusaders

also there's a couple of people I know at work who have never done any minis gaming but have shown a lot of interest in it when i've mentioned it/shown off some of my figs - I might be able to get them to join in as well

I also have a couple interested in playing on this side of town. In fact, I think they live about 2 inches from you TJ. I am about 5 min from comic Asylum and they do have a room for gaming. When do you want to get a group together by? If everyone agrees, we could even set up a carpool to Denton every once in a while.

This sounds great. Hope it works out well. :B):

My wife will be getting her Masters degree in ESL this December, so we are getting the heck out of this bad-weather town. I want to spend 1-2 years in Texas to study painting under Anne, so that will be our first move. ^_^

After a couple of years, we'll be looking at Southern California or possibly England. ::D:

Since my main job will be running websites, I can do that anywhere on Earth that has hi-speed internet. :B):

You're not REALLY moving to Texas JUST for Anne, are you?
Yeppers!
