drjsallison
I have a bit of terrain as well that we can incorporate.
tabascojunkie
I know it's not actual gaming terrain, but when I play Warlord with my wife or son at home we use pieces built from a few MegaBlocks Dragons sets we have around the house. Since it's made with a fantasy theme it fits pretty well and some of the stuff looks really cool. Pretty close to scale too. I can bring that just for the heck of it if necessary. Anybody gonna try to make it to Gamewyze tomorrow night? I'm planning to go.
drjsallison
I know weds. is Cav Demo night at Gamewyze, but will anyone be playing warlord?
Mad Pat
We like to call the first Wed of every month Reaper night at GameWyze. As the Demo guy my focus tonight will be on CAV2 for obvious reasons to those that know me. But we have plenty of room to set up Warlord games for those folks wanting to play Warlord. There are also usually a couple of non reaper games going on as well so its usually a pretty happening place. Mad Pat
Stubbdog
I'm working on getting a couple of warlord armies put together and painted. CAV is on hold for me for the moment. Until the beta stuff can get a little more defined (and a new tangible, readible beta release that I can read and analyze is in my hands) I am holding off on it. Just too many discussions going in too many directions at the moment for me. I know that is why they call it beta testing, but currently its just kinda jumbled testing with forum venting than anything.
tabascojunkie
This is a bump to remind of DChihorn's game Saturday. PM me if any other east siders want to carpool out.
drjsallison
Alrighty Dallas East-siders! I have met with Mark at Comic Asylum and we discussed what holding a regular Warlord game there would entail. First off, there is no terrain at the location and storage space is almost non-existant. We would need to have our own terrain and transport it to and from with each session. Second, Thursday is the evening he would like us to fill. I know us well enough that I think we would all be happy to teach/demo the onlookers and suck them into our hobby. One thing that we didn't discuss is patronage. He is offfering us a place to play for free, but I am sure it is because he is hoping to get some sales out of the event. I would like to be able to give him a number of people that would participate regularly as well as what factions we all are playing so he can get an idea of what he should stock for us. Custom orders are not a problem if we can give him some lead time or organization. (we submit custom orders at the same time every month so he is not ordering erraticly and/or geting them wrong). What I would like to have to go back to him with is: 1. How many people would play regularly. 2. What factions are being played. 3. How much area would we require for terrain and how many boards we want to use. 4. Any questions I can't answer for yall, post, and I will get answers. I hope this is what everyone was looking for. Let me know what you think and I will finish setting this up. Thanks guys.
tabascojunkie
Sounds great! I'm all up for it. And I usually just play Necropolis for now, but I'll eventually expand into Overlords after I get a LOT more Necros painted up. How much space I guess would depend on how many people and how many games at a time. If I remember right they have the lunchroom style tables. Probably 1 or 2 of those unless several people want to have several games going. And hey, thanks alot for all the effort, it's greatly appreciated. Any idea when for a tentative first game, and how often?
drjsallison
If all goes well, we could have an October start date (Oct. 13).
Stubbdog
Ok, bumping again to remind of gameplay over on the WEST side TOMORROW, Saturday 24th. I have confirmed: Tabasco DrJ Still need to chime in: Jhilahd Sirikus (bring your wife and your Hirst tower stuff and such if you come) Ixminis (if you can sneak away from the Asylum) Golden Eagle (again if you can sneak away) Lady Justice My current schedule says that I am available around 9 am to about 2 or 3 pm. Based on the conversations, I would say that tomorrow will be a Warlord time, but Tabasco go ahead and bring your CAVs and you can do some teaching if the others either dont show or leave early. Go with the idea that we'll start with a 750 points each skirmish, but obviously we will adjust based on people and their armies in tow. Please RESPOND ASAP so that we can know who wants to come... Tabasco has been here a few times and knows his way, but I will pass my address via PM for those that dont carpool with him... jhilahd
Alrighty Dallas East-siders! What I would like to have to go back to him with is: 1. How many people would play regularly. Me 2. What factions are being played. Dwarves are my starting army. My son has Necropolis(and working on elves-oy). I will eventually go Reven or Mercs as well. 3. How much area would we require for terrain and how many boards we want to use. Good question. I've never been inside his store, so I'll have to check it out. 4. Any questions I can't answer for yall, post, and I will get answers. If we start having tourney, can we convince him to throw in some prizes. Maybe a figure or two for the winning army? What about store discounts if we provide patronage? I have no problem using him instead of the game store in the area, if he can help carry Reaper products. I would prefer using a store who is more personable and willing to carry products. This could be the start of a beautiful relationship. I hope this is what everyone was looking for. Let me know what you think and I will finish setting this up. Thanks guys. No. Thank you. We appreciate your time and energy in the matter. sirikus
I would love to come tomorrow, unfortunately I have to help my mother-in-law move tomorrow afternoon, so i will be busy taking care of that most of the day =P as for gaming regularly, as long as I can find out where the store is I will be up for it - I think my schedule is going to be mostly 9-5 or 11-7 at the latest on weekdays so should be able to make it around then - I can also get started on making more terrain to bring as well as bringing what i already have. oh yeah my wife plays crusaders, and I mostly play elves, and it's my only full army, but I am enamored of pretty much every faction to some extent and have way more minis from each army than I should (except for overlords, for some reason i just don't like them that much)
Stubbdog
ok, so its only Tabascao and DrJ for tomorrow then? Guys, I've given my time available frames, what time are you planning on making the trek?
