Crazy8
I thought it was because the Terrans got wiped out by the Rach again Not yet. "Yet" being the important word. Hey! Who let the Rach out of the cage!? Off you go now, back to your cage... Whew... whose idea was it to keep them as pets?

Sergeant_Crunch
Mmmmm...Human fingers are tasty roasted over an open fire, preferably the flames of their burning house, or raw with a little blood to dip them in. Great as a snack for a Rach Warrior on the go.

Crazy8
Force A: Hawk6, Katana, Hawk5, Regent / Talon, Raptor, Naginata, Naginata / 4x Strafing Run OR Force B: Thunderbird, Regent, Katana, Hawk6 / Harpy, Tsuiseki / Merlin, Merlin, Light Mortar, Light Mortar no strikes. What would you rather run? And don't ask any questions about the board or the mission, just what you would feel more comfortable with. Thanks fellas... Outkast Samurai
Walks in still chuckling about the pink bikini graffiti on the Ronin and Starhawk V outside. Ignoring the UTFF Personel Only sign and sitting down and announce to the room, "Been in a 'Mech for about 15 years and these CAV's look pretty dang nice. The question is where does a person get started 'round here? I've heard quite a bit about factions and such but I figured that this would be the place to find out which way the galaxy points." Spartan6
*Hands OS a Timbuqui Dark and pulls up a chair* See, us Terrans are sort of latecomers to this party. The Adonese and Ritterlich used to share a homeworld and claim the title of "first to the stars" but no one really cares. The Rach are the galactic playground bullies, the Malvernis are your run-of-the-mill religious zealots and the Templar are the Eagle Scouts convinced the galaxy would be a nicer place if everyone just did what they say. That leaves us. We clawed our way into space about a century ago and not long after the Rach showed up and introduced themselves by destroying a research station we had set up on a planet we called Jed. That set off the Rach war and things looked pretty bad for a while, the Rach even made it to Earth and invaded. We managed to show them the error of their ways at the battle of Rome and pushed them back onto their own playground. Us beating the Rach made the rest of the galaxy sit up and take notice and though there's a little looking down of noses at us sometimes the other races realize we're here to stay and we won't be pushed around. Not to mention we make the best beer and the best CAV's, tanks and planes anywhere. So what are your questions? ( I played BT for almost 20 years, CAV is better. )
Outkast Samurai
*taking a long pull on the bottle savoring the flavor* Well you pretty much answered my first question. I've been leaning towards either the Terran forces or the Templars and you cemented that. Now just to narrow that down to one or the other. I guess my next question is where is the best place to start. It looks like most combat forces are built around a solid core of a CAV platoon but which ones would you reccomend? And then would you build a second CAV platoon or switch to armor, air, or infantry?
Saint of Sinners
*saunters on in, pulling up a chair next to Spartan before taking a flask of Mohr's Milk from his pant's pocket* Seeing as we're facing a combine arms war, throwing some lesser units into the mix for yer Task Force is the best way to go. Tanks are alot less expensive to field and maintain then a CAV. Granted they have less firepower but you can almost run two platoons of tanks for the cost of a single CAV platoon. *Takes a swig of Mohr's Milk.* Gunships a definite must. High speed and pretty deadly to boot. The Earthers have some excellent air support. Harpies, Kikyus and the Tsuikiawhatsmacallit in the top ten of the best birds in the sky. I'd definately would suggest getting a wing or two first after you've acquired yer first CAV platoon. *takes another swig* As for Factions go the Terran are a good group to cut yer tooth on. But when yer ready to fight beside the best of the BEST... the Templars are the way to go.
Outkast Samurai
*tipping back the dark liquor then setting the bottle down on the table running my fingertip around the lip of the bottle* Well ya say that you fight for the best of the best but it sounds like the best is right here. If the Terrans can field three of the best fighters, not only that but twice as many, doesn't seem like you'd be making it to the ground with your CAV's,tanks, or transports. Sounds like all you have going for you is a prayer. From some of the stories going on through here the Terrans can lay down an airstrike like nobody's buisness, and to boot any one of their units can call those strikes in. That makes it pretty rough on whoever is on the recieving end of that. So what makes your group the best?
