Guerrilla events for The Reaper Artists Conference.

What are Guerrilla events? Well these are events off the normal schedule intended to give you something to do while not in class. Guerrilla events are not part of the normal schedule of events for the Artists Conference and are free to anyone attending the Conference.

The Guerrilla CAV event for the RAC this year will be the first annual North Texas Open. This will be a CAV 2 mini tournament with a open format. Anyone wishing to participate will need to play three games against three different opponents over the course of two days. So you have plenty of time to fit in games between your classes.

Game Time Limit: 45min

Force Size: A single Armor Platoon made up of 4 CAV's costing no more then 1300 points for the entire Platoon. The same force will be used for all of your games.

Table Size: 4*4

Scoring: at the end of the 45min if no clear winner is obvious, we will score the game based on damage taken. Each CAV will have its total points (including upgrades) divided by the number of total damage tracks. The opponent will be awarded a number of points for each point of damage done to that cav. The player who inflicted the most points of damage will be the winner. Games will also have a sportsmanship value to them, as well as a best painted army for the entire tournament voted on by a special group of judges.

Special rules: No Faction SA's, No Strikes, No Engineer assets. Proxies are allowed for any unreleased unit, all models of the same unit type must be represented by the same proxy mini.

Here is how to play. Starting at 11am on Sat you and a opponent find myself or the staff member on duty at the Asylum to log a game is going to be played. You will have 45 min to complete that game. You have until 3pm on Sunday to complete 3 games against 3 different opponents. Games must be played in the Asylum or designated gaming area, and must be played during the normal event hours of the Conference.

The Guerrilla Warlord event for the RAC this year will be the first annual Khazareen Province

Showdown. This will be a Warlord mini tournament with a open format. Anyone wishing to participate will need to play three games against three different opponents over the course of two days. So you have plenty of time to fit in games between your classes.

Force Size: Legal Warlord army of no more then 750 points.

The same force will be used for all of your games.

Table Size: 4*4

Scoring: at the end of the 45min if no clear winner is obvious, we will score the game based on opponents models taken. Please keep track of all models removed from the game by your opponent and count up their value including all upgrades. The player with the highest score will be the winner. Games will also have a sportsmanship value to them, as well as a best painted army for the entire tournament voted on by a special group of judges.

Special rules: Proxies are allowed for any unreleased unit, all models of the same unit type must be represented by the same proxy mini.

*** A note about force sizes

The force sizes for these tournaments are smaller then a normal game. There are two reasons for this. First is the time allocation for each battle in the tournaments. Second and most important both force sizes are easily obtained and ready to field. If players wish to pick up a box set or buy four CAVs at the Asylum put them together and take the field these force sizes allow that. In fact some of us will even be happy to help you glue them together.

*** A note about experience levels

We ask that to participate in either of the tournaments you have at least a passing familiarity with either CAV2 or Warlord rules sets. We have Demo folks on hand to run you through some basic games and give you tips and tricks. This is to make the tournament fun for everyone, players with no familiarity with the rules can slow down game play and make the entire event frustrating for you and your opponents. Just ask we'll be more then happy to show you how to play.

The Guerrilla painting events for this year will be two speed painting events. Both events will be HIGH NOON show downs. what's that mean...simple they will happen at Noon both days. This will be a standard one hour speed painting competition. You are allowed to bring your own brushes but all paints and other materials will be provided at the event. This event is only open to the first 8 folks who sign up for it. Sign up will start at 11 on both days in the Asylum. Please see me both days for the signup. You really will not want to miss this event. Saturdays mini is promised to be a pre release mini unavailable at the conference except as part of this event. Guerrilla Black Lightning Officers reserve the right to harass or other wise make the painting of mini's difficult during the competition.
