FreeFall
OK I just spent an hour watching Extreme Dodgeball. This is sad, really sad. It was like a train wreck. i couldn't look away!!!! I even TIVO'd it! I haven't felt my IQ drop like this since Springer went off the air, but I loved it!
spiritual_exorcist
For some reason this makes me think about the latest celebrity reality tv show i've heard about here in Australia, Celebrity Spelling Bee. Are we that hard up for entertainment?
Qwyksilver
I just watched 10 year olds on Jeopardy this evening. I thought the little blonde girl in the middle was going to cry when Alex told her she couldn't be in Final Jeopardy because she was at $-5,000.00 I am really hoping the Reality TV boon has reached it's peak and the pendulum will start to swing back to scripted TV. Granted, a lot of the writing has been fairly poor too, but my gods the shows coming on.
Spartan6
Dodgeball isn't extreme enough on it's own? They need Extreme Dodgeball?? I'm kinda sorry I missed it though.

One can only hope....I do not think I can handle one more 'the real life of this washed up celeb' or 'Watch as this group of people are told to do things that never happen in real life'
Qwyksilver
The latest trend in entertainment... They are no longer "washed up" celebrities. They are retro-celebrities. Pathetic has beens.

I've seen this on while flipping through the what's on menu, but have been inclined not to watch. Looks like I may have made the right choice. I even TIVO'd it! I haven't felt my IQ drop like this since Springer went off the air, but I loved it! Given what I hear about what's on TV these days (like this), it really boggles my mind that people are surprised when I tell them I don't watch television. I'm surprised anybody actually still wastes their time in front of the idiot box, to be honest.

I watch TV during football and basketball season... after that, it's just something in my living room collecting dust.
dargrin
Dodgeball isn't extreme enough on it's own? They need Extreme Dodgeball?? I'm kinda sorry I missed it though. What made it extreme? Did the ball have spikes?
Frankthedm
Dodgeball isn't extreme enough on it's own? They need Extreme Dodgeball?? I'm kinda sorry I missed it though. What made it extreme? Did the ball have spikes? Sadly, that is not likley. Extreame sports tend to be a rip off. I remember very well when the XFL had a really entertaining injury, but would not reshow it. What made it extreme? Did the ball have spikes? No, but they did add a BIG ball in the second queater and a dead man walking in the 4th. Sergeant_Crunch
This is why when I watch TV it is generally the History Channel (original and International), most of the Discovery Channels (can't watch the Health Channel, surgery makes me wanna puke), Food Network, or something interesting on one of the Cinemax channels. spiritual_exorcist
I do watch tv, but I don't watch very much of it, and I tend to watch sports or documentary style tv when I do. If I do find a series I like I almost always buy it on DVD. Unfortunately for me the wife is a bit of a reality tv show watcher, drives me up the wall (I've threatened to put a boot in the tv more than once).
