The mini isn't actually very good (she just grabbed one from my room) and she wasn't sure what she was doing. But it certainly added up to an interesting effect. I'd recommend checking the manual for "aperture priority," "depth of field," or "adjusting the aperture." And backlighting. Otherwise, a very good first attempt. At least part of the mini is in focus, so you know you can get that close. The question is now about how much control you have in the macro functions.
