Torgstuff
What is/was Dark Haven Apocalips?
Crusoe the Painter
A Kissing game? I think you mean "Apocalypse". ;) It was Warlord's grandaddy. :)
Dragon Snack
Yeah, Dark Heaven Apocalypse was Reapers old mass battle game. Don't know much more than that, but some people around here have the box set...
tabascojunkie
Yup, I picked it up awhile back. There are alot of similarities between it and Warlord, so you can definitely tell where Warlord came from. And lots of great fluff for the continent of Adon. I even started a HERO System fantasy game based around it. Only 1 game so far, but hey.

Reaper User EdPugh Posted November 7, 2005 Reaper User Share Posted November 7, 2005 Mid 90's era we developed our fantasy world Adon. Warlord is set in a small part of that world. DHA was a table top stand alone game for the world. Expansion books for DHA were discussed but the scope of the world was large and the system was not evolved enough to support them. Total print run was around 7500 copies. Minor variations will occur as we move forward with Warlord and other projects but the overall world will remain largely unchanged from its DHA origins Best
claymoore
When I saw this thread I happened to be reading some of the older CWs. In #10 the Adon Worldbook was mentioned as a Spring 2003 release and the RPG follow-up to The Eldest Son, Vicious Circle was listed as a future release. My understanding from Ron and others was that these had been put on the back burner while the RAGE games were being promoted. Seams like they fell off the stove, were swept up and put out with the trash This is regrettable since the Avalorr/Adon world was very well constructed. Warlord is a nice continuation of DHA that is, as far as I can tell from comments about Craclaw and the Overlords, set at least 100 years in the future from DHA. Warlord is excellent but I wish the market could support something to fill in the blanks between time settings. If not in print than maybe on one of the forums or web sites. Thanks
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 8, 2005 Moderator Share Posted November 8, 2005 Far as I can tell, the D20 glut and such have pushed these off the back burner and into the storage closet behind the stove. I did get to play A Viscous Circle last Reapercon, and it is a reasonably fun module.
mooseyjoe
My favorite thing about apocalypse was the novella that came with it. Really awesome read.
claymoore
My favorite thing about apocalypse was the novella that came with it. Really awesome read. Me too! I read the "12th journal of Johann Kruger" several times and used it to create a lot of the fluff and a more detailed map for scenarios. Redfeild
OK. I have found a store that actualy has a coppy of Apocalyps. What I want to know is, dose the Apocalyps box set come with miniatures? What is in it? The box only says you get everything you need to play. Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 23, 2005 Moderator Share Posted November 23, 2005 I got 5 skeletons and about the same number of dwarves.
tabascojunkie
The one I bought came with a pack of 4 skeletons and 4 dwarves. It's supposed to be a mass combat game, like 300 or 400 minis on the table, so that pack is just a sampler to learn the basic mechanics. Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 24, 2005 Moderator Share Posted November 24, 2005 If you can find it in an older FLGS or on E-bay, that's your best bet.
