WintersRainne
My latest finished work - the three hags from Reaper - the casts were a bit off - especially the sister in the purple dress - very sloped face...but I made the best of it.... Individual pics and more pics of the whole base are on my site: http://homepages.slingshot.co.nz/~beowulf/witches.htm Would love to here your feedback! Buggeye
That Bubbling caldron is super wicked. Love the effect you achieved there and with the potion vials. If your looking for constructive critisism hmmmm..... uummmm..... maybe the skulls are little too clean or the blue witch needs some extra dark lining around the gold bracelet (I'm really stretching here). Your overall composition of the piece is outstanding. Your Base-fu is flawless.
smokingwreckage
Yeah, apart from maybe making some of the shadows darker especially where the light from the fire wouldn't hit, and that's just an idea, and I only said it so I'd have an excuse to say DANG! That is a NICE JOB! But seriously have you considered putting some more "shadows" from the rocks near the fire or just behind the witches, to make the scene darker and the fire even more 3-D? Or is there no fire, just a seething cauldron?
LordColdsteal
outstanding work. I checked out the individual pics on your site and they look fantastic. I agree with Buggeye, the skulls look a bit to white. The potions are fantasic! You did a great job with those for sure. I also like the base you made... really adds so much to these three lovelys. Wonderful job.
Mengu
Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble, something wicked this way comes. Excellent work! Fun little diorama.
Whyspyr
Very nice work! I hear these are not the easiest mini's to paint up in general but you've done a terrific job! The cauldron and base are awesome! Like the others mentioned the skulls on the pole are a bit bright-maybe a brown wash to tone them down some? Nice highlights on their hair too By the pricking in my thumbs, Something Wicked this way comes!

Hyperion
I'd be intersted in finding out how you based it. We recently completed the same figs but have been scratching our heads as to how to base them prior to throwing them up on the site.
WintersRainne
Thanks guys! Glad you liked them.... Okay some answers for you: Hyperion: The base is actually a concrete sample disk from the factory next to where I work. There were 12 of them attatched to a board showing the different colours of this very small pebbley concrete stuff - the factory is moving and are getting new display boards so they asked it I wanted it - it has worked out perfect for larger minis or smaller dios like this one... In terms of prep - painted it black, added the tree (Woodland Scenics armature), coriander for the leaf fall, sand, cork ballast, GW small green ball flock, (not the sawdust type) and kitty litter rocks. I will do an overhead pic when I get home - but this side on shot should help a bit: Skulls - hmmm - will check - they are definetely very white in the pics - will tone them down..... Fire under cauldron - The sculpt is a little ambiguous here - the cauldron fully sits inside the stones so I tried for the slight reflective glow of more embers than fire - hense why it's not throwing light (or shadows)...I will look at that again as well.... Thanks again guys!

Jubilee
I really like the effect on the cauldron bubbles. It's just so cool and slimey looking. I am pretty sure I voted for this one in the Exodus Halloween contest.. :) /ali
Frustrated Father
This is just a plain flippin' cool job. I've been wanting to get these sisters but I've been a bit intimidated by them. Very well done.
