The blues were done with VMC's. He was based with Intense Blue, shaded with black, then highlighted first with Medium Blue, then up to Sky blue. I then glazed again with intense blue to bring the colors together.

Jabberwocky, Anatora asked me to post for her and thank you for the miniature. :) She'll make a post herself when she's able. She's been laid up in bed sick for the past week and had about no computer time. Your miniature was a wonderful surprise and great upper for her. Ann adores dragons and dragonlike creatures. I almost lost a hand while holding the box for her to rummage through to take out the mini!!

Jabberwocky,

I think you did a great job on the Behir, but the base really sets it off. In a game setting (My standard personal perspective) I can see how that big toothy smile rising above the pile of skulls would set any players on edge.

The stalagmites are a good touch too. Sort of reinforces the idea of a cramped cave and bad footing.

The piece really works as a whole.

Jabberwocky, Thank you for posting your pictures. I fully intended to post long before this, but will just add my thank you. While the pictures are wonderful, the miniature in hand is even better looking. He will have a place of honor in my dragons. It was a much appreciated mini. ::):

The only thing I can think of is that the stalagmites look a little flat. I would suggest make it look like a layered look (amost like a birthday cake).

As you can see, Dargrin, I am not particularly skilled with greenstuff. I also was not really aware what real stalagmites look like--I should have done a little research. They are very textured and do not look like brown hazard cones  Ah well, they are at least identifiable as stalagmites and add to the ambience of the piece I think.

I'm glad you like him, Anatora. He was fun to paint! After all the hurricanes you went through this year, I was wanting to do something special for you. Did it make it there in one piece?

Thank you very much. It was very kind of you to think of me. Last year's Hurricane Hugo did damage to my studio that thecontractors are still working on. We dodged most of the hurricanes this year with little damage. The crawler made it here all in one perfect piece and he does have an attitude. Just love him.
