ugluk69
Well while yall were painting minis I was out with this mess. This was a 1980 Corvette that a drunk ran into a tree. Don't worry the tree lived......and so did the drunk who is in the hospital awaiting a free trip to jail. Happy!! Happy!

battleMountainminis
I've rolled up on a few of those scenes in my day...Amazing how lucky drunks get sometimes. Poor car Love the lighting effects from the turnouts
Orsino
Ah, the rarely-seen 2,000mm scale! So you're into kitbashing, U69?
Sergeant_Crunch
Needs more highlighting. The base-fu is excellent though, very realistic. That's what upsets me about drunk drivers. They get in a collision, kill a family of four, and they usually survive the accident. On the other hand, that couldn't of happened to a better car. I don't like corvettes. Dragon Snack
1 Bad Boy = 1 Less Car Gotta love the way a fiberglass body disintigrates on impact...
ixminis
There's a fire-fighter in our group... very good at describing the sur-reality at these wrecks. Last story I remember was about a drunk and a muscle car: It involved a guy who split his car in half & was then stumbling around with slurred speech insisting that he had not had anything to drink and didn't know how it happened. Very very lucky, nothing but scratches and bruises...
Death Jester
why do drunken idiots have such nice cars? if they want to wreck them why dont they just give them to me, i dont even know how to drive.
Qwyksilver
It's a shame drunk people are so relaxed at the time of impact that their risk of injury is significantly reduced, and usually their injuries are less than would be for an alert driver. I'm just happy that no one other than the driver was hurt. Although I do feel bad for the car and tree.
Enchantra
The driver is a lucky man in that he didn't hurt or kill anyone else with his sheer stupidity, or get himself killed. I do hope the judge makes sure this guy get some AA meetings and some jail time. I work with a woman who's Boyfriend lost his wife five years ago to a drunk driver. She was walking along the side of the road and the man hit her.

I'll second that loudly , Some 20 years ago a drunk almost killed me , knocked me off my motorbike from behind and just left me for dead . They only found him because he hit a tree a few miles down the road and discovered it was probably him because of the paint from my bike on the side of his car . I was left with a broken jaw , crushed larynx , neck injury , 2 fractured flailed ribs , a dislocated shoulder + wrist + elbow . I was in Intensive Care over a week and 9 months before I was back to work . The doctors said I was lucky an ambulance was passing my wreck just minutes after the crash ! ugluk69
Well the funny thing about this situation (if there is a funny part) is that this idiot was showing off when he wrecked. He was passing a truck (going 55 in a 25 mph zone, we know that cause the speedometer needle hit the face of the speedometer leaving a good mark) that was being driven by his sister in law. The truck belonged to her brother who was a passenger (he had been arrested for 2 prior DUI and sorta learned his lesson.....I guess). When the dork hit the tree he was right next the truck and when his radiator "exploded" it sprayed the truck. The sister in law stopped and when we contacted her she was drunk and went to jail. Here is the radiator fluid on the truck......
vutpakdi
Because he didn't take anyone else out, I want to say that I found the notion that he smashed his car rather satisfyingly amusing, especially given the "I BAD BOY" etching on his windshield. My wife sees entirely too many clients a year or two after drunk driving accidents who come to her for therapy because they've gotten a brain injury because of someone's drinking and driving. About 6-7 months ago, two television series producers that I met at the HSPCA got hit by a drunk plastic surgeon. Luckily, they survived, but they have a very long road of recovery ahead of them. On the bright side, the surgeon, though he left the scene of the accident, was caught. His practice is now shut down and his medical license, at least temporarily, has been revoked for "moral turpitude" (a wonderful phrase) pending the outcome of his trial. Of course, the surgeon plead not guilty: I'm waiting to see what justification the lawyer tries to use. Ron
Evilbob
Idiots, Flaming Idiots and Morons. But I come from a family where you don't drive if you have only had 1/2 a beer, let alone more than that. 25MPH zone, doesn't that normally mean residential or school zone. JERK! I had a friend killed by a drunk driver a few years back. And a schoolmate was killed this last year. Both by trucks while they were on motercycles. I now have issues with bikes, trucks and drunks.
