Vikinglodge
Well lately I have been trying to improve my camera skills better light and such. I have played Golf that is a frustrating sport but has nothing against Digital cameras. These two were painted with metalics, Feedback and questions always fun Happy Holidays
Rastl
*sigh* Just fabu. Which metallic was used on Thomas? That's one very nice shade.
Vikinglodge
Thanks, I used pewter pro reaper paint and brown ink for highlights I used true silver with brown ink and some top highlights I used true silver with tiny bit clear yellow. then to add stronger shadows I used watered out brown ink to add stronger shadows. Angorak
Sweet metallics...smooth transitions that don't look drybrushed. I'm gonna half to give the new MSP metallics a try....that is if can remember how to use them...lol
Moderator TaleSpinner Posted December 14, 2005 Moderator Share Posted December 14, 2005 As usual, your painting is spot on. I really like the armor on Hammerfist. Very nice job of highlighting the metalics. It's hard to know what to say, your minis are always so great. I love looking at your work to give me ideas of thing to try. CuCulain42
The elf is great, I love the peacock and the green armour.
skavenbabe
Both beautiful work (as usual ) I really dig the metallics on Thomas and the peacock shield on Turanil. The runes on the sword are nice too.
Mclimbin
Very nice metallics. It's funny, it's almost like you are a brave person for painting with metallics. NMM is getting to be such the standard, but only metallics can give the realistic look you got on Thomas' armor. This is coming from someone who just spent a few hours painting NMM copper coins on a dancing girl's bodice...would have been much easier with some metallics, and would have looked just as nice, I think. NMM is harder in some ways, though, so that is what I'm going for... Why am I writing about my mini in your thread? How rude! ;) Anyway, very nice, my fav part (if you haven't figured it out yet) is Tom's armor.
John Lee
Super, I have always thought that NMM was overrated, and after seeing these, it just reaffirms my thoughts. You just can't beat well applied metalics. Beautiful. John Lee
LordColdsteal
I really like the armor on the first fella. Great distinction between the darker and lighter metal. The elven sword is really nice too.
Vikinglodge
Thanks for the feedback guys I think both teqnichs are fun and intresting tho I think normal mettalics dont get enough attention in the paintworld.
Jordahn
Vikinglodge, It been over a year since I've posted and seen you work. I've always admired what you have done in the past, and I only see improvement now. Very nice. And I too think NMM are overrated. I don't think it's bad, I just have a different philosophy to the approach of presenting metals.
