Stubbdog
Here is the clutchling card front and back:
Hexxenhammer
Now we know why an intelligent, R-selected species hasn't overrun all of Taltos. "Here's a spear, kid. Now go run really fast at those guys with swords over there."
shakhak
Fastest grunt in the game for Reptus. Cheapest ones also, might also have the lowest DV. I like it, it's different. I'm already thinking up of nasty little ways to make sure the Young stay fed... and alive.
Qwyksilver
Woot, another model the Goblins could beat up on... If there are five of them and only one Clutchling and it was dark and they took it by surprise. Runner allows you to add on the bonus movement if you double move. Use these guys in place of the Longstrikers as your Reach support troops. Send the Longstrikers elsewhere as combatants. Hey Junior. Ssssssstick behind me and learn how the grown upsssss fight. Watch my backssside.
shakhak
I'm giving them a test run in an hour, I'm pumped!
All-Terrain Monkey
Don't forget, you also get the runner bonus for charging. So, Base Mov + Runner Bonus + Charge Bonus = 10" charge.
Outkast Samurai
Can't wait to try them out. Finally something that can lend support when a bloodlusted Khong-To charges in. Its nice to have more cheap grunts to fill out the troop. Makes me wonder if we'll be seeing some other leader models in the near future with the influx of rank and file. shakhak
I put 6 of them in a group with 3 warriors and Ssathus. I also had a totem of battle. I put 2 Clutchlings on each warrior for support and the tore through a troop of Mummies and Anubis Gaurd. So the warriors weren't missing with a MAV of 4. I'll be buying at least 2 packs. Stubbdog
well, I like the idea of their 10" charge as, be patient at first creep up slowly behind the wall of warriors and their high DV, provide a small bit of support, and then once the warriors have the enemy locked up, use that charge to run around to the back side. mooseyjoe
looks like these guys will most likely be seeing exclusive use over my longstrikers. I been hopin' for a cheaper spear guy to fill out the ranks, and now my dreams have come true.
Stubbdog
yep, as cool as the longstrikes look, I have to admit, I am right there with you moosey
shakhak
That kind of makes me sad, but I'll be doing the same. I love the Longstrikers fluff and scuplt but I can't find a place in my army lists.
Sergei
I imagine that the Longstrikers would be useful against a highly moble enemy that normally breaks into the back ranks or an opponent that uses lot o assassians. Besides that, I'm going to bo using the clutchlings as well.
