I use a lot of testor's, but recently tried a bottle of Jo Sonja's Matte Varnish. It's thick and fairly glossy, brush-on. After an adequate dry time (several days) I tried whacking it with the metal pocket-hooking-nerd-thing part of a pen. I gave it a pretty decent tap. Okay, hang on.... right. I REALLY WHACKED IT and it's not chipped or anything. Needs a bit of dullcote to flatten it if that's what I want.
