You can't just take a Warlord and 4 or Sergeants for example. In such a case (5 troops) you would need at least Warlord, a Captain, and 3 Sergeants. This is because Sergeants can only function alone in small operations (small games), and require more senior officiers in bigger companies.

You can field a Warlord and 4 Captains however if you wanted, since there is only restriction on Captains is that you can't field 3 Captains without first fielding a Warlord (And that a Warlord must be fielded in any game 1501+ points in size).

IC I think,

So a max number of Srgts with a warlord would be 4 because 1 of three must be senior officer right?

thanks this stuff is great

Theres a chart on page 51 that details whats required

for 4 sergeants you could either have a captain or a warlord, since you cannot add a third sergeant without adding a captain or warlord. You could not add a 5th sergeant without adding a Captain first though.

Right, 4 Troops would require at least 1 Captain or Warlord and 5 troops (like my example, stating that a Warlord + 4 Sgts was invalid), would require at least 2 Captains (or one Captain and a Warlord), and 3 Sgts.

thats the point, a warlord(or captain) and 4 sgts is valid as is detailed on the chart on page 51, the 6th troop would require another captain

keep in mind that the chart shows # of sergeants, not # of troops

:down: Apologies for my incorrect example, thanks for pointing it out as wrong (I was thinking number of troops for some reason).

Much appreciated ::D:
