ThePolo
A bunch of folks from my of WoW guild (and I) are planning on making characters on the 'Khyber' server for the pre-order event, just so ya'll know... that's where I'll be this weekend! (After I finish cleaning and priming the package that I've got on the way from the Reaperstore... glee!)
Erion
I'm already registered for the Pre-play. My brother and I just need to decide where we're going to make our characters. I had a lot of fun getting to level 2 in the beta. It was pretty easy to hook up with 2 or three other players and knock off one or two quests we all had received, then go our separate ways. vejlin
Isn't it one of the mountain passes into India? - Kim, who has no idea what Khyber is slang for, but assumes it's naughty.
Decado
I am thinking about getting it if I can talk my roomate into buying it as well. Our current game of choice is Joint Operation. Decado
Erion
In Eberron, Khyber is the name of one of the three mythical dragons from whom the world was formed. In their conflict before the world was made, Khyber killed Syberis, whose broken body now forms a ring of crystal around the planet. Eberron then enveloped Khyber, forming the world out of his own body, with Khyber's body becoming the underworld. All three dragons are manifest in the world in the form of Dragonshards, magical minerals and crystals which power much of the world's magical technology. Qwyksilver
Isn't it one of the mountain passes into India? - Kim, who has no idea what Khyber is slang for, but assumes it's naughty. Bingo. It's rhyming slang. "Khyber Pass" (Or "Khyber" for short) = "Arse". Tommy. Wow, that was rather anti-climatic. I figured it would have been a little more risque or creative. For slang, that's a downright snoozer.
Zordana
I was waiting for this game for so long, then I heard how much they are charging for the box and subscriptions and quickly realised I could not afford such horrible prices for both myself and my hubbie :( Bastards. Zordana
Suggested Retail Price for the boxes is $49.99US Monthly Subscription Fee is: $14.99US Which equals way too much for two people in my currency :) Actually I think its too much for one person... as much as I love dnd, I just cant afford it. It wouldnt be so bad if they weren't charging full price for the box. Or if they charged full price for the box but lowered the sub price. As it is they are charging top dollar for both, which is just greedy. *grumbles*
haldir
on the flipside of things, that about the norm for a online pc game here in the states. RM
Decado
Does anyone know if it will be possible to just play LAN between two computers and not pay a monthly fee? I am not a big fan of the monthly fee. Decado
Erion
I tried to login to the preorder head start this morning, but ther servers weren't up yet. And those prices are pretty standard for startup MMO's these days. Sony is getting ready to do a big package where you get all their current MMO games in one box and pay one price per month to play them. Unfortunately none of sony's games held my interest for very long, except planetside, but that one tanked in the community at large. Twitch gamers don't really appreciate the quality of a persistnent universe in which to play.
