Erion
It has been a joy knowing all of you. Really, It has. But my first ever D&D Character has been reincarnated in Stormreach. I'm having way too much fun joining up with random groups of people and my brother and I haven't even met up yet online. I had all sorts of painting ambitions for the weekend, but instead I gathered up 11,000 experience points and am 1/3 of the way toward my first action point between 2nd and 3rd level... Zordana
Yeah, it's just annoying because the only reason its the norm is because gamers have said they are willing to pay that much. If gamers just refused to pay that much each month, and didn't buy the game the price would drop to a more reasonable rate. I just hate how some companies charge full price for both the box and the subscription. I mean with ongoing payment you'd think they could drop the box price by half. Hell, they don't even do a family subscription rate for families who have more than one person wanting to play. Decado, im pretty sure you can't. Decado
My roomate and I took the plunge yesterday. So far the game has been pretty fun and we left off last night 200 points from Rank 2. The only annoying part is it gets laggy in the social areas because it is so busy. I am running a female dwarven fighter, named Freja Shieldbreaker. She is styled after the Freja Warlord mini, one of my favorites. Who else is playing? Decado
Lars Porsenna
I picked up a copy. So far it's alright. Graphics tend to look a bit dull and washed out, not as pretty as WoW. I dunno if I'm going to maintain the service... Damon.
Erion
I, on the other hand, think that WoW looks like a garishly decorated cartoon, so to each his own, I guess.
haldir
I'm on the Khyber server, I like the game & I don't. Swimming is a major PiTA, my breath meter drops like a level 1 gettin owned by a level 60 in WoW. There is some other things I don't really care for as well, but I guess that goes with game when you first play it I guess. btw my main character is a human cleric. Haven't grouped up yet so maybe I'm missin out on most of the fun. I will say it is true to the books, with a little tweakin of the spells & action points & stuff like that but it does run like a electronic version of D&D. I'll probably stick with it for at least 2 paid months, just to see how things shape up with it. did I mention I hate swimming in that game................. grrrrr RM
Decado
My roomate and I thought the graphics were very good. I have never played WOW so I can not compare the two. Swimming can be a pain especially if you get stuck on a ladder while swimming through a tunnel...that nearly did me in. I think grouping up is the way to go. I know our fighter/rogue duo would benifit from some support. Still all in all a fun game and I am in hopes to play some tonight. Erion
I'm playing on Khyber as well (or rather, I will be again once I get the retail box). Haven't decided on paladin or Sorcerer yet.
ThePolo
Haldir... quick tip: Remove your armor when swimming. Remember, the D&D Armor check penalty applies to swimming as well... I learned the hard way (but now my rogues swim is +19. Whoot for me!) BTW: On Khyber as well... Thwak Amazog.

Erion
Alright. Looks Like I'm going to be playing my Paladin (Sarin Obara), but I won't be on wednesday until like 10:00pm EST at the earliest (it's game night)
Decado
Haldir, To be honest I am not sure which server we are using, I think it is the Arda server. We should be on most of the night and my character's name is Freja Shieldbreaker (female dwarf fighter). My roomate is playing a hafling rogue. Speaking of my roomate, he just called and told me that he saw on Ebay that a guy was selling 100 platnium pieces in D&D Online for like $100! WTH? Erion
Goldfarming is likely not going to be an issue one you start forming up regular adventuring parties. There were guys in beta running around with piles and piles of platinum. You'll be hard-pressed to spend it all.
Decado
I have no interest in goldfarming....seems a little much if you ask me. Last night we had a barbarian join our duo for a brief period. Good times and it really showed that the more players you have the better off you are. I played all morning, in between painting, and finally got my dwarf to 2nd level. Life is good! We are planning to play again on Sunday night EST on the Ardar server if anyone is intersted in joining up. Decado
