spiritual_exorcist
Alright, so I know I'm going to have to face Brushmaster's new monstrosity (In fact I faced it once already): Gaaguk + Bonesplitter+ Divine Favor Doesn't seem like that lethal a combination, but it has been fairly devastating as Brushmaster runs in with First Strike and 3 Attacks, enrages, and drops his opponent without fear of being struck back due to the First Strike ability. So, ways to deal with this? In the game I faced this model, I luckily had Sir Dauron on the field, Sir Dauron engaged Gaaguk first, preventing Gaaguk from using his First Strike+enraging, and since Sir Dauron has first strike, Defensive Strike was nullified as well. In my opinion this is probably the best way to defeat this model. Engage it, even just by basing it with a wimpy Goblin, and preventing it from moving and attacking in the same turn, which in turn prevents it from gaining it's First Strike bonus (seeing as how you have to move prior to attacking in the same activation to utilize the benefits of first strike). Attack with multiple models (3+) at once, and Defensive Strike becomes far less effective, since Gaaguk doesn't have Warmaster. Otherwise I would look to hit this model with spells and archers I suppose. DV 11, MD 11 isn't bad at all, but throw enough firepower at a model and they'll take a wound or two (It would be helpful even if just to get rid of the Divine favor). I won't say this model is too powerful, it comes in at 180 points or something enormous like that, but it is a fairly lethal combination. Any ideas on how to deal with it in the future?
