spiritual_exorcist
The biggest problems with First strike are: 1) You have to move prior to attacking to get the First Strike bonus. 2) You only gain the bonus against a single enemy model per turn. 3) It doesn't work when using defensive strikes (although Bonesplitter does)
Ranzadule
Only the model with SA: Reach is immune to First Strike. Any other model remains eligible for First Strike attacks. Other models that are not bothered by first strike: Those who engage the first striker. Reach is all well and good, but not necessary. Proper positioning will do more or at least force the enemy clerics to cast speed and whatnot to get him stuck in.
Ranzadule
In the finals of the tourney this weekend past, ElementsWarden and I decided Gaguuk is just OK. He lacks speed to make his first-strike what it needs to be. Maybe with Kiakara and teleport, but then he'd lose Enrage. In the Bull Orc list, he's too slow to get in there first and he's too expensive to use as a reservist or bodyguard, though I think that may be his best use. Have him trail around a few inches behind Narg and as the unit storms forward and Narg becomes engaged, Gaguk can get all angry and countercharge. Qwyksilver
Yeah, it still stuns me that of all the Bull Orcs in the list, he does not have Bloodlust/X especially given his fluff. You would think that he would at least have Bloodlust/2 so that he could keep up with the Bull Orc Warriors.
Ranzadule
Wah! I'm still living wiht Judas being a Vampire without Bloodlust! :p
Qwyksilver
He's dead Jim! I'm a doctor, not a miracle worker! He doesn't have a heart that starts racing and adrenalin to pump through his veins
Ranzadule
So vampires do not lust after blood? Maybe Gaguk is like a Ginsu-Kensei and he simply walks around the battlefield just cutting up anyone who stands still long enough for him to charge them? Brushmaster
The way I usually use him is to take out those pesky 2 wound sergeants and solos , or have Umbur cast "speed" on him to get him going at some othen big thing .
Spike
Just put Gaaguk in a Musician-equipped troop, and that will gain him some extra range. As for his lack of Bloodlustyness, it's becaus he's SUCH a bad***, he can keep a cool head while doing his Gaagukly thing. He just runs in, busts some head, moves on to the next poor sap, and never even breaks a sweat.
ecs05norway
He's a point sink, designed to distract Reven players with his flashy powerful abilities from their real source of power. More Goblins.
