mousekiller
I finished this mini a few months back in the middle of moving from Hawaii to here. I had none of my stuff with me, and always willing to learn from an expert, I ordered Annes kits (learn to paint 1, 2, and 3). So this is the result, with the exception of the metalics vs NMM (I so wish I had been brave enough to try it). NEW PICTURES (I HOPE THEY ARE BETTER THAN THE LAST)

Stern Kestrelmann
MK- Kill that flash man! From what I can see it look pretty good. The eyes look a bit off to me, but this could be the photo. Keep 'em comin' dude. SK
mlavanish
Yeah, from what I can tell it looks good, but the flash is killing the picture. In any case, nice work.
mousekiller
I think I am learning as much about the photagraphy world as I am about painting since joining this forum. Either way, it is still a good experience. I bought a flourescent bulb for my spotlight, built a photo box, used different backgrounds, etc. At the end of the day, it is me, me, me and this camera. However, my wife just dug out the old instruction manual and now I am starting to see some of the controls that I have been reading about, like the macro mode: use the macro mode for shooting close-ups in the range of 5-46 cm. Also, read something in the Shutterbug section about not using zoom when shooting pictures. Fingers crossed, with these new techniques at my disposal, we will see what happens. Oh yeah, now that I have the instructions I know how to turn the flash off on the camera... I spent all day yesterday trying to figure that out. Too many darn symbols... Thanks all... Vil-hatarn
Very nice. Looks a little too sunburned/tanned for an elf; most people choose to paint them a little paler, but I don't know whether you wanted it that way or even what exactly the guide said (I bought it, and promptly ignored all the non-NMM directions. Which I gave up on soon after. I'll stick to demi-metallics, myself)

Pictures are much better. For zoom, I find optical zoom (your lens actually physically adjusts) is fine. Digital zoom is when the camera just crops and blows up the center portion of the image. That results in a loss of sharpness, so don't do that.
