Naterstein
Hello, So I am trying to get all my grunts assembled and primed so I can get them painted. However I ran into a road block, that is what would be the best way to attach Scythes to Wraiths, Shields and Swords to Crimson Knights. Looking for advice from wraith and crimson knight assembly/paint veterans. Pinning may not work since all i have are paperclips for rods. Green Stuff, Super glue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Nater
tabascojunkie
For the Wraiths there are nubs on the handles of their scythes that match up with where their non-existent hands are. Other than that Super Glue and patience is how I did mine.

FeniXbane
I did a Crimson Knight a couple months ago, I just put a drop of glue and it's held fine. Since it's so lightweight, it doesn't have the stress on it that you would get from a larger model. So as long you don't have any rowdy gaming sessions, you should be ok. Naterstein
Okay.. its best to glue before I paint em then, I am assuming
drjsallison
Definately glue first. You may want to fill any big gaps with green stuff. The Crimson Knights go together well and hold with just super glue, but I had to pin my scyths onto the wraiths so they could stand up to the abuse of gaming (Full Contact Warlord!!!!) When all that is done and smooth, wash gently and let dry thoroughly before priming and painting.
Vil-hatarn
A tip for models with nubs: they can't always quite support the weight (I don't know the specific models you're assembling, but I've done this with my elves). So, you clip off the nub using fingernail clippers or something of the sort, then pin it, using superglue and green stuff if necessary. FeniXbane
Okay.. its best to glue before I paint em then, I am assuming It really depends on the mini itself. If the piece to be glued on would get in the way of painting the rest, I'll wait until afterwards to glue it on. In the case of the Crimson Knights, the shield covers a chunk of the body making it really difficult to paint if you were to put it on beforehand. Just try not to paint the spot where the glue goes. If you do, just scrape it off afterwards so you're not gluing onto paint.
airhead
...Pinning may not work since all i have are paperclips for rods... Get a finer drill and use staples for rods. Dry fit, then a drop of Zap-a-Gap to make it forever.
mlavanish
I pinned my wraiths with brass wire probably about the thickness of your paperclips. It's a touchy business, but it is possible. I wouldn't trust those bits to just the indents on the scythes (which don't even qualify as nubs). Superglue won't hold against that kind of torque.
