Dane
Hi all. I'm getting back into painting after giving up a couple years ago. I'm about to base a mini, but the block of Marblex I bought two years ago is rock solid. I can carve it up with a knife with some difficulty. Is there a way to revive this stuff, or should I just toss it out and try something else? Thanks.
airhead
I guess nobody knows what Marbelex is. Is this a polymer clay product like sculpy? (heat cure). A real clay product? (air dry) or an epoxy product? (greenstuff) Googled it, seems it is an air dry clay. if it is real hard, you might get it going again, but I doubt it. If it is just stiff, try kneading some water into it.
Dane
It is indeed an air-dry clay. It had ben stored in its original packaging for two years. I cut a bit off the block with abutter knife and tried kneading water into it, but it just eroded into slimy mud. I went out and got a small block of Creative Paper Clay. That stuff worked nicely for a very basic base. Thanks for the help :)
Enchantra
No, Marblex cannot be revived. Most air dry clays cannot be revived after they harden up. Most attempts at reviving these clays usually results in more of a mess than usable product.
