Mastertickles
I ordered a bunch of CAV and I want to try to paint one for Reaper Con paint contest. This RAFM Syreen is the only Mech type mini I had on hand. Please be honest with your critisim. I wasn't sure if the static grass was not right for the scale. Maybe just one or two little tuffs of grass. The detail on the main part of the body is just a alien stymbol. I ordered some decals so I'll change it later, maybe not. How is my weathering? I'll be honest I'm not crazy about the mini. Kinda odd. Comments Please! I'll post the Cav stuff once I paint some of them.
mooseyjoe
Really well painted and I looooove that blue. I just don't really like that sculpt at all. Put thaat scheme on some CAV. I can't wait to see what's comin.
Redhandstudios
ok, honest. I am not crazy about the figure either, that aside I think that a wavy symbol on the chest distracts from the cleaner lines of the model. The blue and white are nice crisp choices, the blending on the lower leg, gun things is nice. Static grass could be more...greenish too? Sergeant_Crunch
I'll have to look at it when I get home to get a good look, but first impressions are that you picked a very effective color scheme and the weathering and panel lines are well done. You might want to hit some of the white areas with a couple more layers as I can see a little blue around the edges in some spots. (I'm one to talk, my last CAV has stray marks all over it )
slidedog
Nice work! Anybody else notice this guys looks like a * ? That's what an army needs... Punctuation!
Sergeant_Crunch
OK, upon getting a better look, if the blue overlap onto the white bits was intentional, leave it be.

I does look like its thin but I can asure you its the photos. I just feel the white is so stark. maybe next time I'll just used light grey instead of light blue. thanks again! OK, upon getting a better look, if the blue overlap onto the white bits was intentional, leave it be. hehe I didn't see this reply woops! I did a Peter Griffon! Brother Jim
a RAFM Syreen. you might be able to sell that on ebay as RAFM hasn't made DP9 minis in a long time. i like the paint job a lot, except for the "alien" squiggle-thingy. the syreen looks odd because it's a hastily redesigned Orbital Transfer Vehicle. jovian chronicles can best be described as mobile suit gundam without the psychic abilities. it's (the syreen) also 17.2 meters tall, 17.5 meters wide and has a loaded weight of 52 tons. i don't remember what scale the RAFM jovian chronicles minis were. Lithian
That's cool! Great color combo. I really like how you did the optics on the missiles. My favorite mech from my favorite mech-game. The old Mekton Technical manual & Jovian Chronicles book, IMHO, were some of the greatest stuff ever published for the genre. Again, top notch. That explains why it looks so different from the one I have packed away now. I like how much depth there is to the blue, and I don't mind the symbol.
