paintminion
Okay, so they aren't Reaper, but I'm saving my Reaper piece for ReaperCon, so you'll see it after that! These puppies were fun to paint, and I figured anything with purple would interest a few of you...well, I'm obsessed with it these days anyway. The beasts and Kaya's cloak are based in purple and feathered up to a light mossy green. A bit of quick NMM gold, a few Hirst Arts blocks broken and chewed, and Wallah! Fun miniatures. Make me want to paint Wolfen more... So I post them here for you to enjoy now that I FINALLY had the pics done (had to get the exxx auction going quick, you know?). My painting group may now commence muttering "'bout frelling time..." These aren't even in my gallery yet, though they are listed in my auction page on my website. Enjoy my puppies and their dog walker!

Enjoy my puppies and their dog walker! Gorgeous (if, indeed, such fearsome things are permitted to be "gorgeous" ;-). Perhaps it sounds odd, but I like the added touch of realism on the Wolfen's kneecaps; it reinforces the "fur" effect above and below it. The purple and moss green combo is evocative too (Source lighting or just as a really cool variance in flesh tone? Either way works for me) Most inspiring. -Tom
Patrick
Excellent work! The green is an unusual color for fur (except for Sloths) but the overall look really works. Great contrast idea with the red details. Can't wait to see your other stuff live and in-person at RCon!
mousekiller
I would have never thought to use purple and green together, but WOW. Those are all very well done.
Fremen
I wish I was going to ReaperCon to see the Reaper mini's you've done. I haven't found myself too attracted to the Confrontation miniatures for the most part, but I really love the treatment you've given these. The colors give them a sort of brooding dark atmosphere and the purple/green combo is great! Amazing work as always!
FeniXbane
Awesome paint job and some really ferocious looking pups you got there. I like the cohesive color scheme between them all.
fieldarchy
Sue these guys are great! I really like them alot. The shading is really cool . . . and purple is a good color. I know I am obsessed with it too.
paintminion
Hey Tom, it's really purply and green fur, no source lighting, except regular shading. And yes, I think they're cute puppies, so gorgeous isn't too far off. Amazing how many things become sweet and cute when you're painting. Even Abaddon and the demon prince I did were called "cute" by me. I never said I wasn't weird. Glad you all aren't headin for the hills over this color scheme. See my fellow IMMPS? It works well! But now you've brought up having minis for ReaperCon...hmmm, I won't have a lot as I keep selling things and some things just don't travel, but yes, you can see at least a couple Reaper pieces in their Gallery, none of them dark and brooding or mysterious and magical. Sort of um, peppy and sunshine, especially on the Gnome Bard. Even my Masters entry is sorta cheerful. <shrug>
Redhandstudios
Wow, I have never seen these guys painted up with this scheme. Sometimes the unorthodox stuff really pays off. Incredible job!
Infinity
I really, really like these. I'd like to see closer shots of them. I love how the purple goes to gray when I try and take the whole piece in. It's like a subtle "impressionist color theory" in 3-D. Very impressive. Can we get a close-up shot of the smaller three, and another view of the big guy (head-on, maybe)? Dang, I love werewolf-types. They say, "I'm MEAN" so very well... Infinity

Mengu
Very cool puppies Sue. These are fun to paint aren't they? You did an excellent job on them. And I like the spiffy bases too.

I must say my minis dont tend to become sweet, cute or anything else quite so girly. They do tend to get spoken to and told they intense, hot or sexy though. Except for the frigging familiars converstion I'm working on. It currently qualifies as *nauseatingly* cute. Damn you, Froggie!

She really misses them, Noel! I also want to let you know how cute the wagomorph turned out as your avatar. And I'm still off the deep end, just comfortable there. Got my floaty chair, my ice tea, a shady umbrella...yep, all set for the deep end. Oops, I left my reading book on the shore...
