pae
Who is judging the peon categories again? I know Anne and Amy are two of the judges, but who is the third?
cutebutpsycho
Last year it was Anne, Derek, and Jen if I recall correctly. Might have changed this year, but they seem like good folks to decide..... Of course, any of the master painters would do a great job.
Reaperbryan
I've almost finished basecoating my entry. First round of layering, tonight or tomorrow to be followed by the first round of touch up on the bits I screwed up with the previous step! I might have considered entering more than one, but I can only enter into the one category (Staff) and considering my skill level, even if I entered a thousand models, if there were 1003 entries, I'd still have even odds of not even placing!! I'm not really that bad. Probably.
paintminion
I think I am? Judging that is.
Rastl
Woo hoo! I got the Pale Lichen paint I was missing! Now I have a chance to get that entry done! Oh wait, that means I have to get back to painting it. Carp.
Sergeant_Crunch
Woohoo! Two more minis done. Finished up a couple of Mk IV Banshees. Before anyone has a heart attack becuase I painted something not Rach, they're going to be proxies for Corsairs. I'd put up pics, but I gotta try to make myself go to sleep. Flit
GHAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Why did the mini I picked have to be cool and then turn out to have eyes that were sculpted funny and refuse to look right? Why does every sculpt have one eye that is sculpted fine and the other one is off just a bit? Why does every sculpt have to have one eye that you can't get to because of hair or something in the way? Has anyone seen my copy of Zen and the Art of Painting Eyes? On the other hand, I worked on the other mini I am trying to finish some too and the skin seems to be coming along OK. I think I feel better now.

Rastl
Let's see. 14 days until the competition. I know - let's try some new recipes! Yah, seemed like a good idea last night. Late last night. Way too late last night. I'm afraid to see what they look like in the harsh light of day.
Angela Landt
Of my three - possibly four - entries, I'm done painting two and the third needs probably less than an hour of attention. I still need to base them all, though. The possible fourth is only 1/2 painted, so whether or not it gets entered depends on how motivated I feel next week. Remy Soujirou
I was prepping three minis for the contest just last night and ended up slicing my left thumb pretty damn bad. I've never done that before, but as they say, there's a first time for everything. Damn thing just wouldn't stop bleeding. *sigh* Well, I really can't put any pressure on that thumb right now so other than maybe gentle filing and using sandpaper, I'm gonna have to wait at least a few days to do anything else. On the plus side, it gives me some time to think of a color scheme I guess. ^^; Just wanted to give a heads-up to everyone out there to be careful so they don't end up like me. Yes, I know... i should've been more careful. heh -Remy
pae
That happens to me just about any time I clean a mini. My fingers are covered with scars.

Paintrix
Super Glue is your friend...when you get one of those type cuts... And good ol' Zap a Gap works even better than the fancy 'liquid bandage' stuff from the drugstore. For me, only one miniature-related wound has required stitches, and only because it was on a joint. Twelve days...my entry is about, oh, 20% finished. I can complete it in nine more days, I think, if I make the correct offerings to the Cruel Gods of Miniature Painting. It will be very shameful to turn up at yet another ReaperCon empty-handed. I want to see what Mengu brings! Regular 70% dark chocolate has not been enough this past week. I'm up to the 85% bars... --Jen
Flit
Wow! I've never needed stitches for a mini injury before. At least not yet. If everything goes according to plan, I will spend most of the day working on my minis. Of corse, that was the plan for yesterday and it didnt work out so good. *crossing fingers*
