paintminion
Side note - I also brought my entire collection of MSP to paint night. It was quite impressive. And it also inspired someone to purchase the entire set. Well, have it ordered anyway. I think I deserve some kind of commission on that one. I think if anyone deserves that bonus it's Eastman. He got at least 5 of us into the MSP. ;) Yep. I vote Eastman, too. I ask for a color, and he's the first one to pop into his cases and get the MSP color. Or purple, or teal. He has a lot of those. More than the rest of us. Skya's second. I thought I brought a lot of paints---these guys have me beat hands down! And as for those mold lines, guys, I think it's the evil painting fairies. They come out when yer not lookin' and sprinkle their fairy dust on minis and "poof" the mold lines are everywhere again... AND, yes, blood has been spilled now upon my one entry. Yes, all this naggin amd whining over one entry. Keep painting guys, and we'll see you very very soon!!!
Whyspyr
AND, yes, blood has been spilled now upon my one entry. One of the more powerful sacrifices to the Mini Painting Gods-I hear they also like pizza though...
Reaper User Vaitalla Posted April 27, 2006 Reaper User Share Posted April 27, 2006 One: Judges this year for the Important People Categories (I refuse to call you guys "peons", Flynn... ) will be Sue Wachowski, Jennifer Haley, and Amy Brehm. I'm taking a break this year, but may get roped into being one of the three Reaper peeps who gets to vote in the Masters competition...we'll see. Two: Have you guys all forgotten (Jennifer! Sue!) that bleeding on an entry makes it more likely to win??!? Blood sacrifice to the Paint Gods, huzzah! --Anne
pae
I think I realized what my problem has been lately...all of the alchohol has been rinsed out of my brushes. I haven't been drinking enough bourbon while painting lately. I'll need to remedy that.

Remy Soujirou
One: Judges this year for the Important People Categories (I refuse to call you guys "peons", Flynn... ) will be Sue Wachowski, Jennifer Haley, and Amy Brehm. I'm taking a break this year, but may get roped into being one of the three Reaper peeps who gets to vote in the Masters competition...we'll see. I wouldn't want to speak for everyone, of course, but peon sounds about right when comparing our minis compared to these three judges. It's a 'lil intimidating, but I wouldn't have it any other way. My LGS has a monthly mini-painting contest which I enter when I have the time. The lighting for the minis is non-existant and the customers vote for the supposedly best painted mini. It's a cool concept, sure, but more often than not, if you want to win your best bet is to wow them with some flashy effect rather than having seamless blends. Not only that, but all they ever see is the front of the mini so if you worked really hard on blending the back of that cloak, add some detailed freehand or anything else on the back of the mini, 90% of the time they'd never even see it. But what can you do, right? One things for sure... that contest doesn't give me incentive to really improve my skill which is why I haven't entered it the past few months. It's nice that they have one at the very least. I'm just glad that we have such well known painters in the mini-painting community judging this contest. Two: Have you guys all forgotten (Jennifer! Sue!) that bleeding on an entry makes it more likely to win??!? Blood sacrifice to the Paint Gods, huzzah! --Anne Well, my blood sacrifice occured when I was prepping my minis a few nights ago so I'm not sure if that counts. -Remy

Do I still have to have the bandaid on when I enter the competition? If the blood was on the base and not on the mini itself, does that count? Who are these nameless painting gods anyway!??? Painting fairies. Just keep them happy and all is well, honest.

Sergeant_Crunch
Blood for the Paint Gods! I have gotten absolutely nothing done in the past three days. My mom's been visiting so not much chance to paint. I'm thinking Sunday's going to be an all day paint-fest at my house.
